The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
As of this hour (8:30 am Tuesday), there are 18,089 confirmed cases of Corona in Israel of whom 15,137 have recovered. 23 people remain on ventilators, and 298 Israelis have died.
It is important to note that a significant number of the “newly confirmed” Corona cases do not involve Israelis. In the past week, 8 foreign workers in Eilat and 122 in Tel Aviv tested positive and have been isolated.
Also, the new Corona wave may not be a wave at all. Of the 7,790 tests that were completed yesterday, only 117 people tested positive.
Meanwhile, the Czech Republic has joined 10 other countries ready to resume flights to Israel. What is holding these countries back is the Israel Health Ministry which is continuing the prohibition on foreign citizens visiting the country.
At the same time, El Al announced yesterday that 5,500 of its workers will remain on “unpaid leave” until at least the end of July.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
There was another bulldozer attack in Jerusalem. A terrorist ran over a policewoman on the Narcissus Bridge. She is in fair condition this morning with leg injuries. As always, the Police are reticent to call terror “terror”. So far, they are calling what happened a “hit and run.”
A large fire set by Palestinian arsonists in Arif continues burning up the hill toward Yitzhar this morning. So far, all attempts to put out the fire have been unsuccessful.
Yanai Beach between Tel Aviv and Netanya remains closed today because of sewage being deliberately dumped into the Alexander River by the PLO. Most of the fish in the Alexander have died from toxicity in the last few weeks.
Throwing our soldiers under the bus . . .
The military and police prosecutors’ offices continue to go after anyone and everyone they can in an attempt to neuter our fighters.
Yesterday, a Border policewoman was found guilty of assault and negligent and reckless use of a weapon for an event back in May 2018.
In that incident, a potential Palestinian terrorist was stopped at the A-Zaim checkpoint near Jerusalem and denied entry into Israel. At the end of the altercation, the Palestinian was shot by the Border Policeman.

The policewoman is now awaiting her sentence.
Two days ago, a military court convicted an IDF soldier of shooting a Palestinian terrorist without proper authorization.
The terrorist was in the process of hurling Molotovs and grenades at our soldiers when the soldier shot him. However, the soldier had not been given approval by his commander to fire.
As stated, decisions like these make all of us more vulnerable to attack and dispirit and neuter those who are defending us.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Does Anyone Know What Is Going On?
When it comes to matters of sovereignty and annexation, apparently not.
A few unanswered questions:
Is there a final map agreed upon by PM Netanyahu and the Americans? There seems to be one map for the Yesha Council, one map for the Netanyahu, and one map for Arab consumption.
Is, as being reported today, Benny Gantz’s approval of the plan a prerequisite to it moving forward? Is the Trump Administration really insistent on having Gantz on board as is headlined in newspapers here this morning?
How many Jewish communities will be “enclaves” in a Palestinian state? The original map suggests 15 or 16. Some on the “right” now say the number is 25.
Are the Americans requiring that Israel recognize a Palestinians state or not? Amazingly enough, PM Netanyahu suggested this morning that he and Israel are not bound to recognize such a state.
Will a proposal move forward on July 1? Netanyahu and his minions are now talking about sometime in the first two weeks in July. We’ve reported previously that Jared Kushner wants a longer delay? Other unnamed Americans say that President Trump wants to move as soon as possible to finish with it before the American presidential campaign heats up.
