The Posters Of The Day
Your humble servant will be there on Monday.
Another poster from the “right” in Israel this morning:
Basically it says:
NO
What kind of government would:
Surround Elon Moreh with a terrorist country?
Stop construction in Elon Moreh?
Separate Elon Moreh from the rest of Israel?
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
As of this hour (10 am Friday), there have been 20,036 confirmed cases of Corona in Israel of whom 15,532 have recovered. 38 Israelis remain in serious condition, and 28 of these are on ventilators. 303 Israelis have died.
What is fascinating about these statistics is that even as the number of confirmed cases continues to increase at the rate of about 250-300 per day, the number of deaths related to Corona has flattened out.
Since May 25–almost a month ago–there have been 2049 more confirmed cases but “only” 9 more deaths. Even more striking is that only 0.3% of new cases need hospitalization.
Nevertheless, pockets of Corona keep popping up. Yesterday, the IDF said that 480 soldiers are now in isolation because they have been exposed to someone who has Corona.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terror in Judea and Samaria continues unabated–no more and no less than before the recent brouhaha over sovereignty/annexation. Numerous attacks occurred yesterday–the most egregious being at Karmi Tzur where Molotovs ignited a fire near the security fence.
Speaking of the brouhaha over sovereignty/annexation . . .

Little King Abdullah of Jordan was at it again yesterday proclaiming that the peace treaty with Israel is over if Israel goes forward.
Isn’t it about time for Israel to call Abdullah’s bluff? Just like we keep PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in power and alive, so do we provide indispensable support to Abdullah.
And what do we get in return? The conventional thinking is that we get “quiet.” What quiet?
What country was it that took back land along the Jordan River this year that had been leased (apparently with indefinite extensions) to Israeli farmers?
What country is it that constantly denigrates Jews on the Temple Mount and establishes restrictions that treat us like dogs?
What country is it that supports every anti-Israel resolution in the United Nations–and lends its sponsorship to most?
Yes, the answer is Jordan. And this despite the fact that we supply practically free water to the Jordanians and employment for thousands more in Israel.
It’s way past time to tell Abdullah and Jordan to go fly a kite.
TODAY’S BLOG:
A Bottle of Water
As we have just written above, the situation on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem has become increasingly intolerable.
In the area which is home to the holiest place in Judaism and which is under Israeli sovereignty, the Jordanian Islamic Wakf rules the roost.
Not only are Jews visiting the Temple Mount limited to about 20 hours of visiting time per week, but also we are subject to demeaning checkpoints before we can ascend. Anything related to Judaism and Israel is confiscated including flags and Torahs.
We have to go though a metal detector; Muslims do not. When we do enter the Mount, we can only do so through one gate–whereas the Muslims have access through almost a dozen. Once we arrive on the Mount we have walk quickly in a line directly to the exit from the Mount.
All in all we are nothing more than second class citizens or worse.
Yesterday, a “policeman” of the Islamic Wakf accosted a Jewish woman on the Mount, told her that her bottle of water was a provocation, and confiscated it.
The Israeli “security personnel” accompanying the group in which the woman was walking stood by and did nothing.
Tom Nissani, chairman of the Students for the Temple Mount movement, summed it up by saying simply: “We have long since lost sovereignty on the mountain, and normalcy has disappeared with it. “
