TODAY’S BLOG:
Where Is The World Outcry?
The Church of Hagia Sophia Becomes A Mosque
For a world that supposedly prizes respect for religions, the phenomenon of Muslims desecrating the places of worship of other religions and turning them into mosques goes practically unnoticed and under-reported.
Here in Israel we have seen it played out over and over again through the centuries.
The site of the First and Second Temples on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem was the exact site where Muslims decided to build the Kipat HaSela (aka the Dome of the Rock).
The Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hevron was recast as al-Haram al-Ibrahimi by Muslim Mamluks who transformed it into a mosque.
The Church of St. James in the Old City became the Al-Yaqoubi Mosque. And on and on.
One of the worst offenders in this regard were the Ottoman Turks. Hundreds of churches in Greece from Athens to Thessaloniki were turned into mosques during the Ottoman occupation of the country. The Ottomans wreaked similar havoc from Hungary to Cyprus and beyond.
But nowhere have the Turks been more active than in Turkey.
Here is a short list of churches that were converted to mosques in Istanbul alone (taken from Wikipedia):

Now you might say that most of these conversions took place hundreds of years ago and that such things are not happening today.
However, you might be surprised to learn that this morning that PM Erdogan has had his petition to turn Istanbul’s spectacularly beautiful Grand Hagia Sophia Church–originally built by Byzantine Christians–into a mosque approved by the Turkish Supreme Court.
And so it goes. The Muslims continue on their march to Islamicize all religious buildings they gain control over, and the world issues useless statements of disappointment and does nothing.
As for Erdogan, anything that this vile, rabid Muslim anti-Semite does should come as no surprise.
