Tragically Correct Quote of the Day
“I lowered the Israeli flag to half-mast. I feel humiliated. The flag should not be up on this day. This is a terrible day for the State of Israel.”
A sobbing Baruch Ben Yigal at the grave site of his son, Sgt. Amit Ben Yigal, after the disgusting Supreme Court decision to not allow the destruction of the house of the man who murdered Amit a few months ago.
You can view him at the grave here.
In yet another in a long series of outrageous decisions, a 3 judge panel (chosen by the Chief Justice because she knew what the result would be) voted 2-1 to overturn the decision made to demolish the terrorist’s home, the very home from whose rooftop he threw a concrete block that instantly murdered Amit.
The rationale of the judges who voted against demolishing was nauseating.
Judge Menachem Mazuz said that demolishing the terrorist’s home “entails a serious violation of a number of basic rights, including a violation of property and a violation of human dignity and a number of rights derived from human dignity.”
What about the right to life that the terrorist took from Amit?
Judge George Karra proclaimed that demolition should be “reserved for extremes and sparingly activated.”
What is more extreme than a brutal murder?
It is not an exaggeration to say that the Israel Supreme Court has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the extreme left.
One final note: Baruch Ben Yigal’s appearance on Israeli television last night bewailing the loss of his only child was one of the most heartrending moments that your humble servant has ever seen.
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona (Covid 19) update . . .

58,998 of these confirmed cases have recovered—an increase of 1,445

As you can see, the number of confirmed cases jumped by over 1,000 since yesterday, but as we noted in our last blog this jump was to be expected because of the usual lack of testing on Saturdays. The confirmed cases today were tested on Sunday.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that we are headed toward perhaps as many as 1000 total deaths by the end of September. With 388 critically ill patients of whom 112 are on ventilators, it is no wonder that between 10-20 Israelis are dying each day from Corona.
Yesterday saw a major fight between the Health Ministry and the Education Ministry over if and when schools will open. Education Minister Galant was adamant last night saying that “schools will open on schedule, period.”
The absurdity continues . . .
As we mentioned two days ago, Palestinians have been flooding into Israel illegally during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, and the IDF has been doing nothing to stop them.
They have been coming on cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and on foot.
And even buses.
Yes, buses.
Yesterday, the mayor of Givat Olga was finally spurred into action when he was alerted that there were 5 buses of illegal Palestinians being taken to the Givat Olga beach (the scene of an altercation between Israelis and Palestinians at the last Eid Al-Adha).
He ordered the police to intercept the buses and have them to return to Ramallah. Thus the police were on hand to stop the Palestinians from getting off the buses and to order them back.
Whether they returned or not is another question.

Southern Israel On Fire, Again
More explosive balloons were fired into southern Israel yesterday than on any day since the summer of 2018. Most of them exploded in the Eshkol region, but some made it as far as Be’ersheva.
The balloons ignited at least 30 fires which burned over 600 dunams (approximately 150 acres) of grassland, forests, and agricultural fields, and blanketed men, women, and children living in kibbutzes, moshavs, and towns with smoke. Already this morning, there have been more than a dozen more fires reported.
I am sure you remember, dear reader, all of the proposals for stopping the balloons which included shooting them down with lasers, drones, and even sniper fire. I am sure you also remember that when our current so-called “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz was trying to get elected Prime Minister, he went to the border communities and promised that he would not allow any more balloon terrorism.
So what did Gantz and Israel do this morning?
Basically nothing.
The government ordered the Kerem Shalom Crossing temporarily closed again “except for fuel and other essentials.” In other words, the Crossing remains wide open.
All the while, Israelis living along the border are under siege from fires, explosives overhead, and choking smoke.
Again.
