The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Along the Gaza border:
At 7:13 pm last night:
Again, it is unclear how many missiles were launched at Sderot. The IDF spokesman reported that there was “a failed launch from Gaza”, but the IDF is currently doing everything it can to avoid attacking Hamas. Other sources reported that as many as 4 missiles were launched.
The plague of fires continued unabated yesterday with 40+ more ignited by explosive balloons launched from Gaza. Here is a photo of a fire near Sha’ar Hanegev:
And another of a greenhouse that was burned near Sderot:
As if missiles and fires are not enough, Hamas has started dumping Gaza sewage into streams that run into southern Israel and into the Mediterranean in order to contaminate Israeli beaches to the north.

In Judea and Samaria:
Aside from the dozens of “rock” and Molotov attacks, there was a ramming attack at a checkpoint just outside of Jerusalem:
Unfortunately, the terrorist survived the attack and was taken to a hospital. The Border policemen were unhurt.
The daily Corona (Covid-19) update as of 8 am this morning:
There are 101,856 confirmed cases—an increase of 859 since this time yesterday
78,644 of these confirmed cases have recovered—an increase of 3,206
398 are in critical condition–an increase of 8
119 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 3
819 have died–an increase of 10
There are 23,212 active cases.
Again, there is a small number of newly confirmed cases simply because there was virtually no testing on Saturday.
The protest season continues in full swing . . .
There were large protests against PM Netanyahu in Jerusalem last night with smaller ones in Tel Aviv and elsewhere. Many traffic junctions in the country had a handful of protesters waving anti-Netanyahu signs.
Unfortunately, the protests in Jerusalem turned violent again with police being attacked and a number of protesters being arrested.

However, many other protests also took place including ones supporting the young girl who was raped in Eilat.
And there were more protests against the UAE agreement but not from whom you might think:
You would think that the “right” would be protesting the agreement because of the impact on sovereignty, but the above protest is from the ultra-left Balad party whose signs read that the Agreement is a “shame.”
Developments in the Eilat rape case . . .
According to leaks from the police, their investigation shows that more than 10 people participated in the rape. 4 suspects were arrested yesterday, and another one was detained this morning.
TODAY’S BLOG:
PATHETIC!
This is another one of those days that your humble servant just wants to scream at the world.
Amazingly, there was no response at all from the IDF yesterday or last night for the missiles fired at Sderot or the 40+ fires.
Why?
Aside from the general cowardice of our government and IDF General Command–and fear that a response would elicit even stronger attacks from Hamas, word came yesterday that there are currently “frantic” discussions taking place between Israel, Egypt, Qatar, and Hamas to find ways of “calming the situation” before the another Israel-Palestinian Gaza war takes place.
To put it a different way, Hamas has issued more blackmail demands, and Israel, Egypt, and Qatar are desperately trying to figure out how they can appease the terrorists.
This is the pathetic nature of what happens on the Gaza border.
In recent years, the sequence has always gone like this:
1. Hamas and Islamic Jihad will suddenly increase the steady drizzle of missiles into one or two large barrages of missiles. At the same time, explosive balloons by the hundreds set southern Israel ablaze.
2. Israel will respond by “attacking” empty buildings and sand dunes, always being careful not to hit terrorists.
3. More barrages and balloons will be fired, more buildings and sand dunes will be “attacked”.
4. And on and on, until we come to the brink of actually attacking the leaders of Hamas.
5. At which time Egypt rushes in to save the day in conjunction with Qatar which bankrolls the blackmail.
6. In the end, Hamas receives pretty much what it wants, and the residents of southern Israel return to the drizzle of missiles and fires.
It is beyond disgusting. Where else in the world do you see terrorists blatantly blackmailing a country and getting paid to stop their terrorism?
Nowhere. Except in Israel.
PATHETIC.
