What does this tell you about Netanyahu?

Likud’s inner circle revealed this morning that the goal of Likud during the next 120 days is to spend large amounts of money to destroy the Yamina Party and its heads Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked.

Think about that a moment.

If you believe that Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud are on the “right”,  the Yamina Party is its natural partner.

But now that polls show Yamina becoming the second largest party in Israel and Bennett being the choice of many to become the next prime minister, Netanyahu believes it is time to end the “threat” and go after Bennett and his party.

Add to those polls the fact that Bennett has harshly criticized Netanyahu about his non-declaration of sovereignty and you have a livid Netanyahu.

Not that going after Yamina and Bennett is unusual.

In advance of every election, Netanyahu’s goal is to cannibalize the “right.”

Which begs the question of why? Why doesn’t Netanyahu ever go after the “left”?
