The daily Corona (Covid-19) update as of 8 am this morning . . .
There are 112,000 confirmed cases—an increase of 1,597 since this time yesterday
91,051 of these confirmed cases have recovered—an increase of 3,325
426 are in critical condition–an increase of 17
118 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 3
894 have died–an increase of 10
There are 20,949 active cases.
As we have often written during the pandemic, one must be very wary of any numbers issued by the Health Ministry on Saturday and Sunday because of the paucity of testing that goes on from Friday noon until Sunday morning.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
The aftermath of another large fire near Kissufim yesterday.
Another day of more than 30 fires burning all along the Gaza border. The hardest hit area were the forests at Kissufim and Be’eri where more than 80 dunams burned.
Throughout the day, the balloon terrorists in Gaza continued sending out messages of how they are about to increase the frequency and explosiveness of the “balloons”:

Few things are more disgusting to those of us who live in southern Israel than the endless parade of broken promises spoken by our prime minister and every one of his defense ministers for the last decade.

PM Netanyahu, August 11 2020:
“Balloon terrorism will have a heavy price. We will not tolerate this. We will take action and exact a heavy price.”
So called “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz, June 29, 2020:
“If Hamas tests us, they will pay a heavy price.”
Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, February 9, 2020:
“The lawless conduct of Hamas leadership is bringing us closer to fatal action against them. We will not announce when or where, but no one will be immune, Hamas will pay a heavy price.”
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, July 15, 2018:
“We endured a inclement weekend and, as for subsequent week, it is critical to highlight that we have no goal to accept any some-more rockets, kites or drones – nothing. Hamas will pay a heavy price if this continues.”
Defense Minister Boogie Ya’alon, May 27, 2015:
“Hamas is “responsible for what happens in the territory of Gaza, and we will not tolerate any threat to residents of the South. If there won’t be quiet in Israel, Hamas will pay a very heavy price, which will cause all who plan to challenge us to regret their actions.”
The bottom line: Hamas has never paid a heavy price.
So when we hear and Hamas hears now that Hamas will pay a heavy price, we and they know that the truth is that it is just another Israeli politician flatulently spewing hot air.
