Palestinian terror . . .
In Jerusalem:
In case you missed it, Yasmin Jaber (an eastern Jerusalemite who self-identifies as a Palestinian) was arrested two days ago for attempting to recruit Hezbollah terrorists. Jaber was an employee at the National Library of Israel.
On the Gaza border:
IDF forces captured four armed terrorists as they attempted to infiltrate the border fence in northern Gaza last night.
In Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley:
A Palestinian terrorist ran over an Israeli near Yafit yesterday. A manhunt for the terrorist continues. The Israeli is in “fair” condition.
The daily Corona (Covid-19) update as of 8 am . . .
There are 183,602 confirmed cases—an increase of 4,231 since this time yesterday
132,449 of these confirmed cases have recovered—an increase of 3,055
604 are in critical condition—an increase of 25
165 of the most critically ill are on ventilators—an increase of 7
1,226 have died–an increase of 30
There are 51,153 active cases.
There is increasing concern in the above grim numbers: the number of active cases in the country has passed the 50,000 mark; the number of critically ill has passed the 600 mark; and for the first time, more than 30 people died in one day.
And still Israelis refuse to follow the simple guideline to wear a mask.
Yesterday, your humble servant and his wife decided to take a short walk down to the beach in front of our house and back. Along the way, we passed dozens of families with small children along with middle-aged and older people who were out for a stroll or exercise. Virtually none of them were wearing a mask.
Similarly, we had this report from Anshel Pfeffer in Jerusalem yesterday:
“A short walk in the strongholds of the ultra-Orthodox community in the neighborhoods of Mea Shearim and Beit Yisrael in Jerusalem reveals that there are no restrictions on Rosh Hashanah prayers. The synagogues I passed were filled to capacity. Masks were not seen there and certainly not police.”

Or how about 200 other “black flag” demonstrators at Frishman Beach in Tel Aviv yesterday?

Your humble servant simply cannot understand the garden-variety idiocy and insensitivity of people who refuse to protect themselves and who expose others to danger.

A right-wing nationalist zealot.
*What does the media call anyone who disagrees with the “left”?
A controversial bigot.
*What does the media call anyone who tolerates intolerant groups?
Progressives.
*What does the media call the belief that the past is largely irrelevant and that people must be coerced into accepting new ideas about individual rights and civil liberties?
Progressive liberalism.
*What does the media call anyone who fights for the rights of all people except Israeli Jews?
A human rights activist.
*What does the media call a peace agreement signed by an Israeli leader which had and has terrible ramifications for the Israeli people?
*A peace of the brave.
*What does the media call the 169 suicide bombers that slaughtered more than 1100 Israeli men, women, and children after the Oslo Accords?
The fruits of peace.
*What does the media fondly call Jews and Jewish groups such as George Soros and J Street living outside of Israel who demonstrate against Israel abroad, and pour money into Israel in order to sow division here?
Diaspora Jewry. This is particularly unfortunate because there are many Jews living in the Diaspora who strongly support Israel–though their numbers are diminishing.
