Some news snippets today . . .
*The government still apparently teeters on the verge of collapse with various political parties bargaining over the vote tomorrow to dissolve the Knesset. Benny Gantz has just announced that he will support a move to bring new elections tomorrow.
*The King of Jordan expressed reservations of any Israeli normalization with Saudi Arabia because he fears that Saudi Arabia will gain a foothold on the Temple Mount.
*According to reports, Israel wants Saudi Arabia to move into eastern Jerusalem and take over the charities, educational, and welfare institutions currently run by Turkey.
*Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has Corona.
*Sudan is now threatening to “un-normalize” relations with Israel unless the U.S. guarantees that Sudan cannot be sued for terrorist actions in U.S. courts.
Excellent news from Samarian wineries! . . .
The international “Terra Vino” wine competition has just ended. 450 wines from 15 different countries had entries which were judged by a panel of experts chosen by the International Organization of Vine and Wine.
Four Samarian wineries won prizes: the Nahala Winery ( located in Elon Moreh), the Har Kabir Winery (Elon Moreh), the Gat Shomron Winery (Karnei Shomron), and the Tom Winery (Itamar).
Samarian Council Chairman Yossi Dagan had this to say: “Jeremiah’s prophecy about ‘more vineyards in the mountains of Samaria’ is coming true. It is amazing to see the connection of the people of Samaria to the land here. Quality and good wine come out only when the vine is grown with love and on well-kept land.”
TODAY’S BLOG:
“Trump’s Impact on Jewish Construction in the West Bank”*
*The following article was written by Peace Now, an organization your humble servant loathes. Nevertheless, Peace Now is normally accurate in the statistics it produces. Of course, Peace Now uses those statistics to castigate Israel; whereas we applaud what Peace Now finds so objectionable.
The following description of what has taken place in the last 4 years of President Trump’s term in office is important.
Why?
Here at OneIsrael we have championed the many unbelievable steps that President Trump has taken over the last four years. These steps were seen around the world and had major impact. We do not need to recount them all here again.
The reason why the article below is important is because it highlights what was not seen. In fact, it does not highlight what President Trump did as much as it highlights how President Trump’s Administration did not interfere with Israel’s actions in Area C.
Herewith the abbreviated article; [I have interpolated terminology corrections]:

Israel’s policy in the West Bank [Area C of Judea and Samaria] is determined by the Israeli government, yet the United States’ influence on this policy is paramount. In President Donald J. Trump’s four years in office, there have been far-reaching changes in the American position on Israeli settlements [Jewish communities in Area C] that have shattered the international consensus around a two-state solution, and which have promoted annexation in all but name. The de facto annexation has manifested itself in high levels of settlement [community] unit approvals, transgressions of informal international red lines in highly sensitive areas like the Jerusalem environs and Hebron, and the building of over 30 new outposts. Consequently, de jure annexation became a legitimate topic in the Israeli and American governments, while Israel has created for itself and the Palestinians a near permanent, undemocratic one-state reality . . .
Main findings
How true the numbers are. The Trump Administration may not have signed off on a formal declaration of Israeli sovereignty, but its actions and lack of actions have indeed created a movement toward de facto annexation of Area C.
This is just one more item to be thankful to President Trump for.

Picture of the Year
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
