UPDATES 6 pm Israel Time

Missile attacks from Gaza have continued all day long. An estimated 250-300 missiles have have been launched. The hardest hit areas, as usual, have been the Gaza border communities, Ashkelon, Beersheva, and Ashdod–all of which sustained direct hits from missiles that got through the Iron Dome.

As of this moment, nearly 4,600 missiles have been fired since the beginning of the war 10 days ago–and the frequency and intensity of these attacks show no signs of diminishing.

Last night, alarms were sounded in the Ashdod, Yavne, Rehovot and localities near the fence. The IDF attacked dozens of targets in Gaza, including weapons and rocket depots, and ten Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives were killed. 12 kilometers from Hamas’ undergound tunnel “metro” project were hit in the Rafah and Khan Yunis area. Within 25 minutes, 40 targets were hit by 52 planes, which dropped 120 different armaments.

One hour ago, a convoy of civilian aid to Gaza donated by Jordan was going through the Kerem Shalom Crossing when it came under mortar fire by Hamas. The trucks contained medical equipment for the Jordanian operated hospital. Following the mortar attack, all humanitarian shipments were halted. You may remember that two days ago an Israeli soldier was wounded at the Erez Crossing by a mortar shell as he was facilitating the entrance of humanitarian supplies into Gaza.

Apparently, President Biden has called PM Netanyahu for a 4th time, and in the call this afternoon stressed that he wanted to see calm (aka a ceasefire) as soon as possible. Nevertheless, there is no security cabinet meeting scheduled for tonight which means that there will most likely be no ceasefire. Some cabinet members have stated that the best course of action will be for both sides to stop shooting–but for Israel not to sign a ceasefire agreement.

Four missiles were fired into Israel from southern Lebanon in the past few hours apparently from the Palestinian controlled area of Sadikin near Tyre.

Israel immediately responded with artillery fire, and there are reports that at this moment, Israeli aircraft are flying in force over Lebanon. It appears that the missiles were fired by Palestinian terrorists instead of Hezbollah.

For the second time this week, Givati soldiers stopped an attempted terror attack at the Elias Junction. A female Palestinian terrorist with an M16 opened fire on soldiers and civilians before she was shot and killed. Click here for a video as the situation developed.

There was a stabbing attempt at the Kiryat Arba Junction. No Israelis were wounded, and the terrorist was dispatched.

Molotov  and “rock” attacks against Israelis occurred between Beit Anun and the Ofakim Junction on Mt. Hevron, at Tapuach, Marda, Tekoa, Har Homa, Gilad Farm, Ponduk, Nabi Elias, Jericho, Migdalim, Mt. Adar, Nekuara, Deir Istiya, the Madama Bridge, Beit Omer, Beit Furik, Khirbet Aliya, Deir Kadis, Luban A-Sharqiya, Ma’ale Levona, Umm Safa, Hevron, Beit Lid, Shavei Shomron, Einav, Husan, Deir Nizam, Mevo Dotan, the British Police Junction, Al-Aruv, Taysir, and at dozens of other locations. UPDATES 2:30 am Israel Time

According to Hamas, the massive missile attack that occurred a few hours ago was meant to target Israeli Air Force bases. There is no indication that the attack was successful.

In the last two hours, the IDF has:

*attacked the Mu’azi neighborhood in central Gaza

*fired artillery on Beit Hanoun Hamas assets in northern Gaza

*hit sites in Gaza City and Magazi

*begun (in the last 5 minutes) to target the tunnel system in southern Gaza

A war of words has broken out between the Israeli “left” and Gaza border communities over a possible ceasefire. Leftist Meretz leader Tamar Zandberg just tweeted: “I call on the Israeli government to reach a ceasefire and end the war immediately.”

Contrast that with this declaration from Ma’ayan Shneur, a resident of hard-hit Netiv Ha’Asara: “It should be understood that until our communities have a complete cessation of missile fire and balloon fire, this war should continue. We are ready to stay in our bomb shelters. We have a lot of patience until Hamas is brought to justice.”

Needless to say, we completely agree with Ma’ayan.

It has been heartwarming to see Israel supporters all over the world.

Just yesterday, Hungary blocked the European Union from making an anti-Israel declaration.

UPDATES 12 am Israel Time

The last six hours have seen massive and intense missile attacks on southern Israel which continue at this moment. Hardest hit have been Ashdod, Ashkelon, and the communities along the Gaza Border. It is impossible to know at this point how many missiles have been fired.

Nevertheless, we seem to be inching ever closer to a ceasefire which will probably take place sometime this evening, tomorrow, or early Friday morning. All indications are that Hamas and Islamic Jihad via Egypt are begging for a truce.
