The Quote of the Day
“Jews are discriminated against in our own country. We have become 4th class citizens. It is a shame and a disgrace.”
Knesset Legislator Itamar Ben Gvir commenting this morning on the fact that Jews are prohibited from entering the National Insurance branch in eastern Jerusalem.
Ben Gvir went on to say:
“If Arabs were prohibited from entering the same National Insurance branch, cries of racism would be heard, the police would investigate, the president would condemn, and the Knesset would be tumultuous.”
How true.
The Disgustingly Absurd Photo of the Day
How sickening is it that the PLO Prime Minister Muhammad Shtiya can go to the Temple Mount whenever he likes and parade around the building holding the holiest spot in Judaism with Mufti Muhammad Hussein who regularly justifies the use of suicide bombers against Israel.
Can you even imagine what the outcry would be if PM Bennett showed up on the Temple Mount tomorrow? Just think about the hue and cry that erupted last week when Knesset legislator Itamar Ben Gvir tried to go up.

TODAY’S BLOG:
Corona, Corona, Corona
Actually all of the news on the Israeli street today is Corona. Unfortunately, the numbers are on the rise again–centered in Modi’in and Binyamina:
*there are now 434 active cases of Corona in Israel . . .
*125 new cases were verified yesterday . . .
*6,428 Israelis have died. . .
According to Health Ministry officials, 70% of the new cases are the Indian mutation, and most of these cases are in children aged 12-15.
Included in the non-children group are 148 Israelis who received a full vaccination. None of these people are seriously ill, and none of them have died.
Apparently all the cases in Modi’in have been tracked to two couples (with children) who returned from a vacation to Cyprus and did not quarantine. Both couples are now facing criminal charges.
This evening PM Bennett has strongly suggested that Israelis not travel abroad and begin wearing a mask again indoors.
He also announced that the testing center in Ben Gurion is going to be greatly expanded.
Certain groups are already seeing more difficulty coming here. For example, there is suddenly a shortage of metapelets (home caregivers). Many of them come from the India and Sri Lanka, and they are not being given visas nearly as readily as they were.
