Gantz The Comedian Strikes Again
Our so-called “Defense Minister” Benny Gantz was at it again yesterday with this bit of insanity:
“Israel is not ready for the money to rehabilitate Gaza to go to Hamas. It must go through the PLO or the United Nations.”
Can you imagine anyone in his right mind making this statement? What is the difference if the Qatari blackmail money goes into the pockets of PLO arch-terrorist Mahmoud Abbas and his cronies, or if the money is given to the United Nations which will then turn it over willy-nilly to Hamas?
The News on the Israeli Street
On the Iranian front . . .
The U.N. reported yesterday that Iran is now enriching uranium at 60% via advanced centrifuges recently installed.
The U.N. also noted that Iranian development of ballistic missiles is inconsistent with U.N. Resolution 2231.
These two reports appeared prior to the news from last night that Iran’s main uranium centrifuge plant was badly damaged yesterday in a drone attack which apparently was launched from inside Iran.
Meanwhile, it became known this morning that the Biden Administration is removing 1,040 sanctions imposed on Tehran–especially those dealing with oil and shipping– and taking close associates of “Supreme” leader Ali Khamenei’s off of the terror blacklist.
Can someone explain to your humble servant the pathological idiocy which has enveloped the White House?
Welcome Honduras! . . .
There was a time when we thought there would be a rush of countries eager to move their embassies to Jerusalem.
Unfortunately, that has never materialized.
However, yesterday Honduras became the 4th country to do so–following Guatemala, Kosovo, and the United States.
The Netanyahu modus operandi all over again . . .
Fresh on the heels of the destruction of Oz Zion came supposedly better news this morning that the Bennett-Lapid government has approved 31 “small-scale” building plans in Judea and Samaria mainly focusing on seminaries, synagogues, and a special needs school.
But before we get too excited, this is following the Netanyahu blueprint exactly. First you destroy a fledgling Jewish community, then approve plans for new construction, and finally you bury those plans in bureaucratic entanglements so deeply that little to nothing ever gets built.

Israel Closes Down The Country To Tourists
The government decided last night to close down Israel to all tourists until at least August 1–at which time the decision will be reviewed. At the same time, wearing a mask will be reinstituted in the coming week if the number of Israelis testing positive exceeds 100 per day.
Which brings us to yesterday’s number: 139 more Israelis tested positive for the virus.
At the same time, 1000+ Israelis were quarantined yesterday because of possible exposure to the virus.
In other developments:
Binyamina has gone from orange to red.
Another outbreak of the virus has occurred at another school, this time at the Rabin School in Pardes Hanna.
What does all of this mean?
Simply, that the Corona (Covid-19) virus is alive and well in Israel, and that any plans you had for visiting the land of milk and honey in the near future should be shelved.
Addendum: Four days ago, your humble servant was disgusted by an op-ed that appeared in the Jerusalem Post authored by Sir Mick Davis. That vitriolic rant attacked those that participated in the Jerusalem Flag March as “pyromaniacs”, “racist hooligans”, and “extremists.”
Yesterday, the Jerusalem Post printed several letters in reply–one of them mine:

Mick Davis’s remarks in “To put out the fires of hatred, Israel must get tough on the pyromaniacs” concerning last Tuesday’s Flag March are not well taken.
Davis tepidly notes that the Flag March’s origins of celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967, and the restoration of Jewish rights to live and pray in our eternal capital” are “worthy causes.”
I use the word “tepidly” because these “worthy causes” are not enough for Davis to justify the continuation of the Flag March. In what can only be described as a post-Zionist diatribe, he asserts that “in a contemporary setting” the sole purpose of these marches appears to be to “antagonize, provoke, and humiliate the city’s Palestinian residents.”
To Davis, the passionately nationalistic young people my wife and I joined in the march this past Tuesday are nothing more than “pyromaniacs”, “racist hooligans”, and “extremists.”
At a time when waving and displaying the Israeli flag, wearing a uniform bearing an Israeli flag, and singing the Israeli national anthem are all under assault, these young Zionists are an inspiration and give me hope for the future.
