Quote of the Day
“A little lesson in history: you started the war in 1948. You were suckers [who believed the Arabs would win). You lost. Now you bear the consequences.”
Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked addressing Joint Arab List leader Ayman Odeh from the Knesset plenum yesterday.
Three cheers for Shaked for telling it like it is. In today’s politically correct environment, few people hare the guts to speak the straightforward truth.
Special Suggestion of the Day
Before it is taken down again by Amazon, click on this link to the hot-selling book “History of the Palestinian People: From Ancient Times to the Modern Era” by Assaf Voll.
Before you spend $13.23 however, note that this satirical book is empty; there is no writing in it whatsoever because the Palestinian people have no history.
You might also note that this is the second edition of the book; the first was taken down in Amazon after pro-Palestinians weighed in.
The News on the Israeli Street
The strange Corona situation . . .
The number of those verified each day continues increasing while the number of those who are seriously ill and who have died has not changed.
Yesterday, 507 new cases were confirmed, but the number who are very ill (35) remained the same; and thankfully, there continues to be no increase in the number who have died (6,429).

Shades of southern Lebanon . . .
Remember back on May 24, 2000 how Ehud Barak embarrassingly ordered all Israeli forces out of south Lebanon in the dead of night?
Apparently, the same thing happened last night in Afghanistan. The Afghan commander at Bagram AFB awakened this morning to find out that the Americans had left, lock stock and barrel. With American vehicles still parked in the parking lot, the U.S. commander had all electricity to the base disconnected.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Bibi And Tibi In Bed Together
Let’s review what happened last night in the Knesset.
The attempt to renew the so-called “Family Reunification Law” for another year failed on a vote of 59-59 with two abstentions.
If you recall, this Law which was developed nearly 20 years ago in 2002 by Israeli legislators on the “right” is absolutely necessary for Israeli security because it prohibits Palestinians who marry Israeli-Arabs from becoming citizens.
During the course of PM Netanyahu’s reign in office, the Law was overwhelmingly approved each year. No attempt was ever made by PM Netanyahu and his cohorts to make the Law permanent by making it a Basic Law.
But last night, we saw once again a Benjamin Netanyahu who cares more about his personal political power than he does about Israeli security. Under the guise of not wanting to vote for the Law’s renewal because it was not being made into a Basic Law, Netanyahu ordered his group to vote against the extension. Of course, it was a power play designed to undermine the new government.
Allow me to restate this. PM Netanyahu, the supposed leader of the right-wing opposition, joined forces with the Joint Arab List (led by Ayman Odeh and Ahmed Tibi), Meretz, and other left-wing parties to throw Israeli security under the bus.
The utter hypocrisy of Netanyahu calling Bennett a “fake right-winger” was there for all to see.
Bibi and Tibi in bed together. This is the new reality in Israeli politics.
