Please Consider Donating To OneIsrael
Our annual Rosh Hashana-Simhat Torah fundraising drive is now underway. Please consider donating to OneIsrael so that we can continue to get the word out about what is happening here in Israel. Thank you for your consideration!
The Quotation of the Day
“We were amazed at how easy it was to escape from the prison.”
One of the Gilboa prisoners who was recaptured several days ago.
The escapees may have been amazed, but we here at OneIsrael most certainly were not. For years, we have chronicled here just what a joke the Israel Prison System is and how terrorist inmates basically run facilities such as Gilboa Prison.
By the way, following an intensive manhunt, the final two terrorists were tracked down last night in Jenin in a joint operation by the IDF and the GSS. This morning they are back in custody.
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
(Please note that the numbers below are a mix of Wednesday evening-Friday morning statistics because no testing or evaluations were made yesterday on Yom Kippur.)
7,445 more Israelis were confirmed “yesterday” as having Covid-19. There are now 83,809 active cases in the country.
1,221,713 Israelis have contracted Corona since the pandemic began.
The positive test rate yesterday was 6.21%.
726 Israelis are in serious condition with another 195 in critical condition on ventilators.
7,511 Israelis have died–an increase of 46 since Friday.
The worst aspect of these numbers is the dramatic increase in the number of Israelis who are in serious condition.
Vaccinations:
6,061,753 Israelis have received 1 dose.
5,575,391 Israelis have received 2 doses.
3,034,363 Israelis have received 3 doses.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
On the Gaza border:
Some good news: 4 Hamas terrorists were badly wounded in a “work-related” explosion at a Hamas base in southern Gaza at Rafah.
Elsewhere, three Palestinian terrorists armed with knives and fence cutters were captured as they tried to infiltrate Israel from northern Gaza.
In Judea and Samaria:
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli soldiers and civilians yesterday at such places as the Halhul Bridge between Hevron and Kiryat Arba, al-Fawwar, between Hermesh and Dotan, near Karmi Tzur, Tekoa, Anatot, and Beit Omer.
Following the capture of the last two escapees, violent riots broke out across Samaria with exchanges of fire between IDF forces and armed Palestinians.

What a wonderful act! . . .
A video that went viral here last week showed an anonymous couple handing out money to soldiers at a gas station at the Beit Kama Junction in Beersheva. The gas station has an area where people–especially soldiers–can have a coffee and a something to eat.
As a result the buy levitra line blood vessels dilate causing increased blood flow into the penis causing an erection. Zenith’s viagra discounts legacy system was a little better. In the clinic levitra sale cases, the constant congestion of prostate may eventually lead to the prostatitis. Recent tests chronicled in the Journal of Urology found that the supplement buying this buy cialis inhibits erectile dysfunction in lab rats.
It now turns out that anonymous couple were taxi driver Yitzhak Gozlan and his wife Mira.
In an interview yesterday, Gozlan said: “My wife and I had a very difficult year. We were sitting at the station, and at one point we noticed a group of soldiers. My wife told me it was time to do a good deed and to thank them for protecting us. We immediately took money out of our wallets, ran towards the soldiers and handed it out. They were stunned. They looked at the bills to check that they were real. We explained to them that everything was fine and we were doing it to make them happy, and it was a kind of gratitude that we were giving back to society. We didn’t know we were being filmed by a passerby with his cellphone.”
Bravo to Mira and Yitzhak for supporting our troops!
No surprise . . .
It is being widely reported that Israel has given up on any effort to return the body parts of our two soldiers killed in 2014 or the other 3 Israelis being held by Hamas as they entered Gaza voluntarily.
But at the same time, our Coalition Government has decided to proceed full-throttle with lifting the so-called “siege” of Gaza and to allow even more items into Gaza via Israeli crossings.
Should anyone be surprised? Of course not. This Coalition Government would better be called a Concession Government.
TODAY’S BLOG:
The “Brutal” Shove at Avigail Yesterday
This is the outrageous statement issued by our government representative, Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz this morning:
“Violence by soldiers against peace activists must stop. A group of the Combatants for Peace movement, which did not take any unusual action, suffered brutal treatment and injuries when escorting a water tanker to a village in the southern Hebron Mountains. After hearing harsh testimonies, And I demanded a thorough investigation. Enough.”
What Horowitz was referring to was an incident that happened near Avigail where an IDF patrol intercepted an illegal convoy with a water tanker heading toward an illegal Palestinian settlement nearby:
Look closely at the photo above. From right to left: notice the international “peace activist” in the red hat taking photographs and/or video, the tanker carrying the supposedly benign banner “Access to water for all”, the clump of people with the man holding the PLO flag, and at the far left another “peace activist” taking photos with his cellphone. You cannot see the small group of IDF soldiers who have stopped the convoy.
What you see is the same modus operandi of all of the leftist groups operating in Judea and Samaria. Self-proclaimed “humanitarian” activists mixed in with leftist Israelis and Palestinians all engaging in efforts to undermine Israeli presence in Judea and Samaria. The typical pattern includes taunting IDF soldiers while cursing and spitting at them–or in some cases attacking them with “rocks” and Molotovs.
Guess what this group did next? They reportedly taunted, cursed, and assaulted our soldiers and then tried to block the military vehicles on the road.
Then they tried to push ahead down the road but were rebuffed by the soldiers, and one of our soldiers (an officer) roughly shoved the leading provocateur who refused to move off the road and down the hill (note that the video does not include what happened prior). Finally tear gas was apparently sprayed in order to disperse the group. In the end, 6 of the activists claimed they were “wounded”.
This morning, as usual, we had the IDF Spokesman throwing our soldier under the bus: “The IDF condemns the officer’s conduct near the town of Avigail.” Other leftist groups have posted the officer’s photo and accused him of committing a “war crime.”
Just unbelievable.
It might be worthwhile today to find out what the group “Combatants for Peace” really stands for.
Here is what they say about themselves on their website:
Combatants for Peace works in bi-national groups, localized in different areas in the Palestinian west-bank. The realities of the occupation and military regime create different needs and each groups is initiating different projects. We work to strengthen the joint activist community, build coalitions and add to the Palestinian culture of nonviolence.
The Palestinian culture of nonviolence? What a joke. The Palestinian West Bank? Another joke. The occupation and military regime? Yet another joke.
And here is how this “humanitarian” organization promotes peace (again from their website):
**Putting on street productions of the “Theater of the Oppressed” which depict Palestinians supposedly being brutalized in cages:
**Supporting boycotts against Israel such as the recent one by Ben and Jerry’s:
Well, if you still have any doubt:
Combatants for Peace has nothing to do with peace. This is a group wholly dedicated to the embrace of Nakba–the Palestinian day that laments the creation of the state of Israel.
This is the group that our government and the IDF spokesman support.
