Alarming Quote of the Morning
“The result of the inadequacy and collapse of medical care in Israel is more and more dead corona victims, already more than 1,000 in the fourth wave since the beginning of August. Nearly all of the corona victims died in the corona wards of the hospitals, and according to estimates by senior doctors some of them could have survived had the burden on the intensive care units been smaller with fewer critical and respiratory critically ill patients hospitalized.“
The Israeli Corona Czar, speaking today about what is happening in Israeli hospitals.

The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
8,691 more Israelis were confirmed “yesterday” as having Covid-19. There are now 74,957 active cases in the country.
1,242,262 Israelis have contracted Corona since the pandemic began.
The positive test rate yesterday was 5.12%.
710 Israelis are in serious condition with another 187 in critical condition on ventilators.
7,567 Israelis have died–an increase of 26 since Monday.
Vaccinations:
6,072,254 Israelis have received 1 dose.
5,591,789 Israelis have received 2 doses.
3,101,551 Israelis have received 3 doses.
In the last week 129 Israelis have died: 82 of them were unvaccinated; 32 were vaccinated with two doses; and 15 with three doses.
In an attempt to force more Israelis to receive the 3rd dose, the Israel Health Ministry went overboard yesterday and appealed to the United States and the European Union to not permit any Israelis who have not received 3 doses into their territory.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at the Givat Gal neighborhood of Kiryat Arba, near Hebron. One bullet narrowly missed a woman who was holding her infant daughter.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at the IDF post at the Avraham Hassano Junction southwest of Hevron at Al-Fawwar.
Palestinian terrorists attacked a bus with Molotovs and “rocks” between the Beit Anun Junction and the Ofakim Junction.

Palestinian terrorists armed with knives attempted to breach the Gaza border fence but were captured by IDF soldiers.
The government continues its slide into national and budgetary oblivion . . .
Let’s understand the current situation.
Israel does not have enough money to buy ventilators for Israeli Corona patients or enough money to properly equip and staff Corona wards, or even enough money to purchase Iron Dome systems.
Facing major shortfalls such as these, our idiotic self-proclaimed “humanitarian” Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz announced a plan yesterday to bring more Palestinians into the Israeli Health Care system.
At the moment, when an Israeli-Arab marries a Palestinian from Gaza or from PLO territory in Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria, that new spouse is required to pay 285 shekels per month for 27 months to join the system (the same as if an Israeli married a person from the U.S.).
But no more. Horowitz has now decided that the “poor Palestinian family” cannot afford this, and so he has reduced the payments to only 6 months–eliminating some 6000 shekels per person.
Horowitz ranted: “This is an “important step taken to expand access to health for all who live in Israel, an important and just step to promote human rights and to promote the vision of equality in health.”
And who will pay for these spouses to have quicker access? Your humble servant and all other Israeli taxpayers.
What this decision really does is encourage more Israeli-Arabs to marry Palestinians. The well-known results of these unions are children who grow up to be terrorists.
The Biden farce at the U.N. yesterday . . .
To no one’s surprise, a verbally stumbling (he seemed to have particular difficulty pronouncing “Israel”) Joe Biden took to the lectern and proclaimed his support for a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, and his support for a return to the Iran Nuclear Weapons Appeasement negotiations.
Of course, it must be said that our current, nauseating Israeli government agrees with Biden on both points.
TODAY’S BLOG:
The Iron Dome Fiasco Yesterday in Washington
As you have undoubtedly heard, read, or seen by now, the U.S. House of Representatives removed funding from this year’s budget bill yesterday allocated to Israel to pay for Iron Dome batteries and missiles.
Supposedly, this removal came because self-proclaimed “progressives” in the Democrat Party refused to go along with the budget bill unless the Iron Dome funding was removed.
Because the vote to approve the budget was expected to be close (so the narrative goes), the helpless Democrat leadership led by Nancy Pelosi had no choice but to go along with the “progressives.”
This morning, we have all sorts of scrambling apparently going on among Democrats. Pelosi dissembled that the rejection was just a “technical rejection” only. Biden’s minions are proclaiming that Israel has nothing to worry about because the funding will be included in a Defense Department appropriations bill for next year.
And we have scrambling and blame-gaming going on among our own Israeli Concession Government. Former boxer turned Foreign Minister, Yair Lapid had this to say this morning echoing Pelosi’s dissembling:
“We are rebuilding trust with the U.S. Congress after years in which the previous government neglected Congress and the Democratic Party and caused considerable damage to Israel-US relations. Today’s action was only a technical rejection only.”
Of course all of this is just unmitigated, stinky, horse manure.
A few observations:
1. Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democrat Party happily went along with the “progressive” anti-Israel wing of her party–a wing that is no longer extreme but is instead mainstream.
2. Yair Lapid can blame the previous Netanyahu government all he wants to, but the simple fact is that such funding was never denied during Netanyahu’s tenure.
3. We have seen a parade of Israeli officials including PM Bennett, FM Lapid, and “Defense” Minister Gantz traipsing off to Washington recently. Their announced purpose was to rebuild ties with Democrat Party, and in the process, they have already made concession after concession to Democrat Biden. What did all of this kowtowing get them? Nothing but a huge slap in the face.
One final observation.
The Iron Dome system was created and developed by Israeli military industries. We should have never started relying on the U.S. for Iron Dome parts and missiles–a reliance that has put us in an increasingly perilous situation.
