“The Non-Combatant Gaza Strip”
It was just yesterday that OneIsrael reported that the Hamas terrorist who murdered Staff Sgt. Barel Shmueli was released by Hamas. As we noted then, he was never really held–except for his own protection.
We added the hope that his release would be “short-lived” and that justice would catch up to him quickly.
Apparently that is not going to happen.
Read this statement from an unnamed member of the Israel defense establishment as reported in Maariv and weep . . . for Israel:
“The defense establishment believes that the targeted assassination of a terrorist in the non-combatant Gaza Strip will inevitably lead to escalation. It is estimated that the release of the terrorist is a purely Palestinian internal matter . . . A targeted assassination is not on the table.”
What a sad state we have come to when we will not target a terrorist who murdered one of our own soldiers.
