The News on the Israeli Street
Some good news from Judea and Samaria . . .
20 million shekels are being passed out to 14 local communities in Judea and Samaria this week. The money is earmarked for field patrols, drones, and photographic equipment.
The purpose of this manpower and equipment is to document the illegal Palestinian construction taking place in Area C .
As we have often noted here at OneIsrael, the PLO with the vast monetary backing of the European Union is changing the facts on the ground in Area C every hour of every day.
At least now, this new funding by the government may help us understand the extent of this illegal building.
But it will not stop the building because enforcement will remain in the hands of the Israel Civil Administration—many of whose employees, believe it or not, are Palestinians.
Not Israeli-Arabs, but Palestinians living in PLO territory.
The daily Corona update . . .
734 more Israelis were confirmed “yesterday” as having Covid-19. There are now 19,587 active cases in the country.
1,315,809 Israelis have contracted Corona since the pandemic began.
The positive test rate yesterday was 1.63%.
388 Israelis are in serious condition with another 157 in critical condition on ventilators.
7,983 Israelis have died–11 since Friday.
Vaccinations:
6,201,766 Israelis have received one dose.
5,698,137 Israelis have received two doses.
3,831,747 Israelis have received three doses.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

TODAY’S BLOG:
Do You Want To Know What’s Wrong With The IDF These Days?
Remember this from a few weeks ago:
If you recall, a rabidly anti-Israel group “Combatants for Peace” replete with PLO flags was ostensibly attempting to take water to an illegal Palestinian settlement. In reality, they were seeking a confrontation with our IDF soldiers.
When our soldiers blocked the road, they began to curse, taunt, and spit at the soldiers and tried to push their way through–all of which was filmed by the “humanitarians”.
Finally, one of our soldiers then pushed one of the “humanitarians,” and he tumbled onto his butt (look at the photo). The group’s photographers (which you can also see in the photo) posted the push and tumble on social media platforms. Obviously, the “humanitarians” did not post their film of what preceded the push.
Subsequently and not surprisingly, the soldier was investigated on the basis of the “push” video.
This morning we have the results of “kangaroo investigation” which was led by the Commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Amir Baram.
That conclusion is that despite the fact that the violence that the “humanitarians” used against our soldiers, the soldier “erred and reacted in a way that was not committed to reality and did not conform to the norms used in the IDF.”
The punishment?
Even though the soldier is a “highly valued officer who has worked professionally and responsibly for years”, he will not be promoted nor will he be able to take the Command and Staff course for the next three years.
In other words, his career is over.
Please stop and think about this for a moment.
An excellent commander recognized as such by the IDF has had his career ended on the basis of a heavily biased video taken by a virulently anti-Israel group and posted in the social media.
If you want to know what is wrong with the Israel Defense Forces these days, you need look no further than what happened to our soldier at Avigail.
What we see is an IDF so enmeshed in political correctness and investigations of our own soldiers that it uses doctored videos produced by our enemies to punish our soldiers on the basis of perverted “humanitarian norms”.
