Egregious Comment of the Day
“Give us the permission to use weapons. We’ll do the work for the Palestinians.”
It was absurd enough that our Coalition/Concession Government held a Knesset conference yesterday to address “settler violence”–especially in light of the dozens of daily Palestinian terror attacks in Judea and Samaria that we chronicle on here at OneIsrael.
But then to have left wing activist Haim Shadmi declare that he wants other activists and him to be licensed to carry weapons so that they can “do the work for the Palestinians” is beyond the pale.
The News on the Israeli Street
Speaking of Palestinian terrorists . . .
Israeli security services announced yesterday that a major Hamas cell consisting of more than 50 members has been broken apart in Judea and Samaria. Aside from guns and ammunition, our forces also found materials for making 4 suicide vests.
This is of course good news, but it must be added that it comes at a time when Mahmoud Abbas and his PLO have lost favor with the Palestinian public creating a vacuum into which Hamas has walked.
The point is that now more than ever Israel is working to prop up Abbas and the PLO.
The duplicitous Jordanians threaten again . . .
On the same day that the government announced the Dubai agreement (water for electricity that we have previously reported on), the Jordanians announced that it was not really an agreement–merely a “declaration of intent” to sign one.
The Jordanians then threatened that there might not be an agreement at all if Israel fails to provide 200 million cubic meters of water per year to Amman.

Eli David Kay Will Be Sorely Missed
The funeral of Eli David Kay, the Israeli murdered on the Temple Mount two days ago, was held yesterday.
This biography of Kay was posted yesterday on Hakolhayehudi:
“Kay, who immigrated to Israel five years ago from South Africa, studied at the Chabad Yeshiva, enlisted in the Paratroopers Brigade, volunteered through the Hashomer Hahadash organization for agricultural work in Kibbutz Nirim in the south, worked as an information guide at the Western Wall Heritage Foundation and was to marry in a few months. His brother followed him to Israel less than a year ago.”
The Hashomer Hahadash (New Guard) added: “We were shocked and hurt, we received the news of the heinous murder of Eli . . . He was a talented musician and brought light with him wherever he went. At the end of the program, Eli even stayed to coordinate the program and led a group of graduates in the agricultural work in the program. We lost a valued Zionist who came to Israel out of a real mission. We mourn his untimely passing and send our condolences to his family.”
