An IDF “bat” helicopter with a crew of three on a training mission crashed 200 meters off the coast of Haifa last night. Both IAF pilots, Lt. Col. Erez Shahanei and Major Chen Fogel were killed; the third person on board, a naval officer, is in “moderate” condition at Rambam Hospital suffering from hypothermia and trauma after being rescued by scuba divers who reached the scene.

In the latter regard, the IDF has decided to “reinforce” the buses with IDF reservists though one wonders how reservists on buses will be able to stanch the attacks coming from outside the buses.

As we have reported previously, the yeshiva at Chomesh still stands despite all attempts of the government to get rid of the 2 families still living there.
Following the cutoff of water last week comes news this morning that now the Civil Administration has turned off electricity to what is left of the community and arrived this morning to destroy the tents that were housing the families.
It is beyond understanding how the government is undertaking these steps against this tiny band of Jews and refuses to take any steps against illegal Palestinian settlements.
