Photos of the Day
Not unless you count Israel’s fifth largest city (pop. 250,000) as desert. This is a sunrise view toward the east from south Ashdod which is bounded on one side by a dune ecosystem. Note that the sun is rising into darkly ominous clouds which produced the heaviest rains in Israel yesterday.
As noted, it has been another day of heavy rains and subsequent flooding throughout Israel. Snow is falling at this moment on Mt. Hermon. Snow is predicted for Jerusalem in the coming week.

The daily Corona update . . .
A “small” number of 27,167 Israelis tested positive for Corona yesterday because of the relatively small number of Israelis testing on Shabbat. Still, the number of active cases in the country rose to 259,204.
436 Israelis are now in serious condition (a significant jump); 96 are in critical condition on ventilators.

The More We Give Our Enemies, The More They Will Love Us
It has just been revealed that Israeli natural gas is being now being delivered to Lebanon. The gas is coming from Israel’s offshore Tamar natural gas field. It has not been revealed whether bankrupt Lebanon is paying for the gas or whether Israel is giving the gas to Lebanon for free.
And why exactly is Israel providing natural gas to Lebanon?
The idiots in our government believe that by providing gas to Lebanon, the Lebanese will sever their deep relationship with Iran.
What a joke. The Iranian connection to Lebanon in general and Hezbollah in particular will not be impaired in any way by Israeli natural gas.
Moreover, it must be pointed out that this is the same cretinous thinking that leads Israel to provide “humanitarian goods” into Hamas Gaza and endless concessions to the PLO in Ramallah. The current government believes that the more we give our enemy, the more our enemies will love us.
Unbelievable.
