The News on the Israeli Street

The daily Corona update . . .

The numbers yesterday:

33,387 new cases of Corona were diagnosed on Shabbat bringing to 344,470 the number of active cases in the country.

The positive test rate was 28.8%.

1,254 are in serious condition; 373 in critical.

9,175 Israelis have died according to the Health Ministry database.

In sum, the positive test rate is off the charts; the number of seriously ill continues climbing; and we still have more than 3 dozen dead Israelis per day. In other words, there is no good news.

On the Palestinian front . . .

Just to show you how far off the deep end our left-wing Knesset has gone, the Chairman of the Arab-Israeli Joint List, Ayman Odeh, was in Ramallah yesterday visiting PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Not just visiting him by the way, Odeh was there to participate in a meeting of the PLO Central Council.

Unbelievable.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

In what has become a daily and nightly occurrence, an SUV full of Palestinian terrorists pulled up alongside a group of our IDF fighters in the Jenin area and opened fire with automatic weapons. Remarkably, none of our soldiers were wounded, but as usual the terrorists escaped.

Biden, Biden, and More Biden

Well . . . hold your breaths . . . guess who the ever fawning PM Bennett finally got a chance to fawn all over today?

Yes, that’s right.

Joe Biden.

This is the same Joe Biden that has refused to speak to Bennett for some 5 months despite Bennett’s repeated efforts.

What was the gist of the conversation?

As you have no doubt guessed, it was Bennett praising Biden for making the world a safer place with the assassination of ISIS leader A-Qurayshi in Syria, and Bennett profusely thanking Biden for his “steadfast support” of Israel both in terms of him personally and in terms of those in Biden’s administration. 

All your humble servant can say is bullsh*t, bullsh*t, and bullsh*t. The world is no safer because of Biden, and Biden’s support for Israel cannot possibly be described as “stalwart”. As for Biden’s minions, all they seem to do is criticize Israel on a daily basis.

To top it off the conversation slobbering, Bennett invited Biden to visit Israel this year, and Biden apparently accepted.

However, the cherry on top of the Biden cake yesterday was the announcement that Biden is removing U.S. sanctions on Iran’s civilian nuclear program to advance talks to help return to the 2015 nuclear deal.

The thought that Biden and his minions cannot see the intimate connection between Iran’s supposed “civilian nuclear program” and its nuclear weapons development program is incredible in the extreme.

Of course, it is not that they “cannot see”; it is the craven willingness to turn a blind eye to that connection that is infuriating.  

We all knew that this would eventually happen, just as we all know that the time will probably come when Biden will sign off on Iran actually having nuclear weapons.

As will Biden’s minions in Jerusalem led by PM Bennett, “Defense” Minister Gantz, and FM Lapid.
