The Photos of the Day
Remarkably, Solosh finished second in the slalom portion of the combined slalom-downhill event with a time of 48.14, and 12th overall when his downhill time was included.
Kolakevod to Barnabas!
The Joke of the Day
The Fatah Central Committee of the PLO announced yesterday: “We have decided to end security coordination with Israel following the deaths of three of our men in Shechem two days ago.”
What a joke. The only thing that keeps Fatah afloat is security coordination with Israel–security coordination which regularly rounds up Hamas and Islamic Jihad members in Areas A and B of Judea and Samaria.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists hurling Molotovs and “rocks” attacked Israeli buses on Road 55 near the Ma’ale Shomron Junction and at several sites along the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road.
Palestinian terrorists hurling Molotovs and “rocks” attacked Israeli motorists between Alei Zahav and Bruchin, Singil northeast of Ramallah, Lubin a-Sharqiya, Al-Abud, and at Tekoa, among at least two dozen locations.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire near Yamum. No Israelis were wounded and the terrorists escaped.
The daily Corona update . . .
36,835 new cases of Corona were confirmed yesterday bringing to 324,802 active cases in the country.
The positive test rate was 25.13%.
1,123 people are hospitalized in very serious condition; another 344 are in critical condition on ventilators.
9,370 Israelis have died—an increase of 67 since the day before.
None of the statistics above show any improvement. Whereas it may look like there are fewer daily cases, it is only because fewer people are getting tested. The positive test rate remains at an astounding 25% (1 out of every 4). The seriously and critically ill seem to have plateaued for the moment, but we have more than 50 Israelis dead every day.

Israel Pathetically Folds To The Biden Administration Again
On June 3, 2021, as the last election campaign came to an end, PM Netanyahu warned that Prime Minister-designate Naftali Bennett “would be unable to stand up to President Biden on Iran or fend off U.S. pressure on the Palestinian issue.”
Ten days later, in an address to the Knesset as the new government was being installed, Netanyahu reiterated the point:
“The Prime Minster of Israel needs to be able to say no to the president of the United States on issues that threaten our existence. Who will do that now? . . . This [new] government does not want to and is not capable of opposing the United States.”
Your humble servant has been thinking in recent months of just how prescient former PM Netanyahu was. In Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid, and Benny Gantz we have a government that does not want to and is incapable of opposing the United States.
Yesterday, Israel folded again.
Under pressure from the Biden Administration, Israel has withdrawn its opposition to a U.S. return to UNESCO, the hideous U.N. organization that terms the old city of Jerusalem as well as eastern Jerusalem as “occupied Palestinian territory” and regularly accuses Israel of being an “apartheid state.”
Not only has Israel withdrawn its opposition to a U.S. return to UNESCO, our government has apparently agreed to accede to the Biden demand that Israel rejoin UNESCO.
It is simply pathetic.
But not unexpected. After all, how many times in the last eight months have we seen Netanyahu’s prediction come true?
For example:
U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Tom Nides announced yesterday that he will not visit any “Israeli settlement” in Judea and Samaria or set foot in the area. Our government tacitly approved by saying nothing.
This past week, the government folded to Biden pressure and announced that no more construction planning would take place in the strategic area between Jerusalem and Ma’ale Adumim.
Back in the summer, the government folded on the return to Iranian “nuclear” negotiations in Vienna with Gantz even suggesting that the negotiations “might be a good thing.”
As early as last July, the Biden Administration demanded that Israel freeze all construction in Judea and Samaria so our government did. Later, the same thing happened concerning construction in Jerusalem at Givat Hamatos.
For the last 8 months, Israel has kowtowed to every demand that the Biden Administration has made concerning increasing the number of Palestinians in Israel, providing funding for the PLO, allowing funding for Hamas, and, and, and . . .
And has anyone forgotten how President Herzog actually said that he would have to ask the Biden Administration if the Chomesh yeshiva compound in Samaria could be saved?
Pathetic. Pathetic. And even more pathetic.
