The Graph of the Day (with apologies for the blurriness):
How much does a basic model Tesla cost around the world?
The countries in the blue graph at the top are the cheapest places to buy a Tesla. You will note that Macau (actually a part of China) is the least expensive at a cost of $40,382 dollars. The countries in red are the most expensive places to buy a Tesla. You will note that Israel is the second most expensive place in the world at a $64,629.
This is just another example of the absurd cost of living in Israel.
The Video of the Morning
We often criticize Egyptian President Sisi, but his gesture yesterday was remarkable.
Click here to watch President Sisi of Egypt make a special greeting to Israeli Minister of Energy Karine Elharrar at Cairo’s Energy Conference yesterday. Be sure to watch all the way to the end of the short 1 min 15 sec video.
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
31,187 new cases of Corona were confirmed yesterday bringing to 251,326 active cases in the country.
The positive test rate was 24.87%.
1,048 people are hospitalized in very serious condition; another 359 are in critical condition on ventilators.
9,581 Israelis have died—an increase of 115 since yesterday.
1,359 Israelis have died of Corona since January 1.
More people were tested yesterday, and the positive test rate rose again. Most concerning is the fact that 115 Israelis died of the virus yesterday.
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists using Molotovs and “rocks” tried to kill Israeli motorists on Road 55 near Azzun, on the Jerusalem-Gush Etzion Road near Al-Khader, at the Zif Junction, between Beit Dajan and Alon, at Migdal Oz, near Ali Zahav Square in the direction of Beit Aryeh, on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near Al Aruv, north of Ofra in the direction of Silwad, and at dozens of other locations.
Palestinian terrorists using Molotovs and “rocks” assaulted buses near Neria, on Road 458 beside Mo’ayyir, at Tekoa, and near Givat Assaf.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire from a passing vehicle near the Jalama Crossing and then escaped into Jenin.

Bad demographic news . . .
Actually it is more like a crisis. Young Israeli-Jews are leaving northern Israel–especially the area around the Kineret (Sea of Galilee)–in droves.
According to a report issued yesterday, more than 30% of all young people in the north have left the area since the year 2000 because most of the good jobs in the country are located in central Israel.
Who is not leaving?

TODAY’S BLOG:
War In The Streets of Sheikh Jarrah
Two outrageous quotes of today:
“Ben Gvir’s decision to establish an office in Sheikh Jarrah is a provocation that harms state security.”
Omer Bar Lev, Israel Minister of Internal Security
“The situation of arson of Jewish homes in the capital of Israel is unacceptable. The Israel Police is increasing security and will know how to secure the residents of the city, but we do not need provocateurs who will come to light the area just for political purposes.”
PM Naftali Bennett, just before heading off on another political junket–this time to Bahrain.
The outrage is that the Jewish residents of the Sheikh Jarrah and Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhoods of eastern Jerusalem have been under siege for months if not years.
The trouble centers around the attempt by Jews to recover property that was taken from them back in the 1948-1967 ethnic cleansing by the Jordanians and Palestinians. One court ruling after another has affirmed that the Palestinian squatters who moved into Jewish homes must be evicted by the Israel Police.
But the police and the government have been largely cowed by leftwing protesters from Israel and abroad who have camped out there to protest any evictions.
Those protests have been anything but peaceful with Jews attacked and beaten, Jewish property such as cars repeatedly destroyed, and Jewish homes torched with Molotovs. Repeated pleas by Jewish residents have fallen on deaf ears in the government and police.
Fast forward to three days ago when a Jewish family’s home was burned by Molotovs (fortunately they were not home at the time). Again a plea went out for help, and Israeli Knesset Member Itamar Ben Gvir responded.
He came to the neighborhood, set up his office near the burned out residence, and said he would not leave until the police provided protection to community members.
Immediately, the Israeli and international “left” along with the PLO, Hamas, and Islamic Jihad said that if Ben Gvir did not leave, they would unleash terror on Israel.
Ben Gvir refused to leave.
And so the police showed up last night to forcibly remove him and his office–despite the fact that he has immunity because of being a Knesset member. In the melee last night, he fainted and fell down during an altercation with the police.
And later being wheeled into Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital:
This morning, he was back in Sheikh Jarrah again.
And because of this, Bar Lev and Bennett issued their outrageous statements. The police have had years to provide security to the Jewish community and have done nothing except sit on their hands. The only reason that they are beginning to act now is not because of our cowardly government–it is because Ben Gvir is sitting there.
Kolakevod to Itamar Ben Gvir! Thank goodness we have someone with the courage to stand up to a government and police out of control.
