The Palestinian Terror Wave Continues

The Government’s Response

A Palestinian terrorist boarded the 364 line bus at around 9:10 am at the Elazar Junction in Gush Etzion. Shortly thereafter, he pulled out a screwdriver and begin stabbing two Israelis on the bus. Another passenger on the bus shot and killed him. One victim is in “critical” condition, the other in “serious” at Sha’are Zedek Hospital. PM Bennett has called on all citizens who have a license to carry firearms to carry them.

Jerusalem Police have changed their tune and are now classifying a shooting attack on a policeman in the Mahane Yehuda Market yesterday as “nationalistic” instead of “criminal.” A “nationalistic attack” is the police euphemism for a “terrorist attack.”

Following the terror attacks in Beersheva, Hadera, and Bnei Brak, the IDF has launched “Operation Breakwater” to try to eliminate terror cells throughout Judea and Samaria. Last night, a firefight near Jenin resulted in 4 dead terrorists and 1 wounded IDF soldier. The soldier is listed in “moderate” condition this morning at Rambam Hospital in Haifa. PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas issued a statement calling the firefight “a heinous crime” and Islamic Jihad is threatening revenge.

From Rescue Without Borders SSF:

Palestinian terrorists threw 5 Molotov cocktails at an IDF pillbox on Mount Hebron near at 3 am this morning.

Palestinian terrorists threw Molotovs and “rocks” at Israeli motorists south of the Ma’ale Lavona junction, near La-Saviya, at the Burka junction between Chumash and Shavei Shomron, on Road 443 west of the Dor Nezek gas station, at Tapuach, Anata, and at dozens of other locations.

The Government’s Response

Unbelievably, during an emergency cabinet meeting last night, there was nearly unanimous agreement NOT to cancel the concessions made to Palestinians for Ramadan.

Instead, the cabinet laughingly decided “to strengthen the economic deterrence by means of a rapid demolition of terrorists’ homes” (impossible because of the legal process), and to revoke work permits for family members of terrorists.”

It was also decided not to close Judea and Samaria for Ramadan.

In short, it was decided not to do anything–except for two things:

First, the cabinet decided not to refer to the terrorism taking place as “Arab terrorism”, and second, the government sent police forces to destroy an outpost that was put up by Jewish community members yesterday in honor of one of our Border Police who was murdered in Hadera “Outpost Shirel.”

By the way, Finance Minister Avigdor Liberman was nowhere to be seen having decided to go on holiday to London. You might recall that Liberman has refused to attend any “Corona Cabinet” meetings during the pandemic.

OneIsrael will continue to update this blog as more terror reports come in.
