The News on the Israeli Street
A massive surge of Palestinian violence in the last 24 hours . . .
Now that our so-called “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz is obsessively rewarding the Palestinians for terror attacks by handing them concession after concession, we can see the easily predictable result: a huge wave of terror with dozens of attacks:
Palestinian terrorist attempted to ram security officers at the entrance to Qalqilya.
Palestinian terrorists attacked vehicles near Gilad Farm with “rocks” and Molotovs.
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israeli motorists south of Ma’ale Levona.
Palestinian terrorists threw IEDs which exploded near Beit El.
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis at Esh Kodesh, the Tarkumiya Junction, La-Ram, in Hevron near Erez Alley, at the HaOfakim Junction north of Kiryat Arba, on Road 55 near Tzofim Square, west of the Beit Kahil Bridge, at the Hasmonean Crossing, Beit Haggai, at the IDF post near the Jewish cemetery in Hevron, Al-Bira, Burka, near the Halhul Bridge, between Givat Assaf and Mikhmas, on Road 60 near Singil, and at Tekoa among other places.
Also directly connected to “Defense” Minister Gantz, do you recall how he went to Jordan a few days ago and cozied up to King Abdullah?
This is what was seized from a Palestinian terrorist as he crossed from Jordan into Israel last night:
Also related to Gantz who has opened the doors wide for Palestinians wanted to come to Jerusalem and to the Temple Mount: two knife-armed terrorists from Shechem (Nablus) were captured in the Old City of Jerusalem this evening.
In short, thank you “Defense” Minister Gantz for making all Israelis vulnerable to terror attacks.

The Chametz That May Have Broken The Government’s Back
It was just two days ago that your humble servant wrote here at OneIsrael:
“A battle royal has erupted over whether hospitals can serve non “kosher for Passover” food (chametz) to patients during Passover.
This morning ultra leftist Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz demanded that hospital directors not prevent non-kosher for Passover food from entering hospitals in order to allow “each patient to act in his own way without coercion.”
So now it is coercion if a non-Jewish patient is served kosher for Passover food? Does anyone remember that Israel is a Jewish country?
In response, one of the leaders of the Coalition, Idit Silman of Yamina, declared that Horowitz should be dismissed as Health Minister.”
In reading it, you probably wondered why I included it in the blog, but it turns out that the question I posed “Does anyone remember that Israel is a Jewish country?” is precisely the question that Idit Silman found herself unable to answer positively concerning not only Nitzan Horowitz but also the entire Coalition of which she was the Chairwoman.
Last night in a move that has rocked the Israel political landscape, Silman resigned from the Coalition and announced her intention to join a government on the “right.” Her resignation means that the Coalition no longer has 61 votes.
One of those most shocked was PM Naftali Bennett because Silman is a member of his Yamina Party. But again, the very point that we have been making about Bennett (and Lapid and Gantz) gallivanting around Europe, America, Africa, Jordan and any other place they could find may have played a key role in Silman’s decision. In essence, Bennett was asleep at the wheel caring little about involvement in such domestically important items as chametz in hospitals and more about aggrandizing himself.
So where do we go from here?
There are a myriad of options:
1. There could be a no-confidence vote in the Knesset which would trigger new elections in as early as June. If this happens, PM Bennett would be replaced by FM Lapid until those elections happen (according to a previous agreement of the two).
2. Silman might be able to induce another two of her colleagues to join her in creating a new party which might topple the government. By colleagues, I am referring to fellow members of the Yamina Party such as Nir Orbach who had already been talking about resigning from the government.
3. Bennett and Lapid might induce members of the Arab Joint List Party to vote with them to defeat a no-confidence vote. Mansour Abbas of Raam is already pleading with Ahmed Tibi of Joint List to do just that.
4. Former PM Netanyahu (whose bloc currently has 54 seats) might persuade one of the political parties in the Coalition to break off and join his bloc in order to have at least 61 seats in the Knesset–a scenario that would eliminate the need for new elections. Unfortunately, the most likely candidate would be the Blue and White Party of Benny Gantz which would mean that the abominable Gantz would likely become Prime Minister. Again, as we have been reporting Gantz and Bennett have not been getting along very well as of late.
And so it goes in the circus of Israeli politics this morning with everything changing by the minute as different Knesset members huddle together and decide what they will do next.
Our expanded blog will follow shortly.
