The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Multiple terror attacks today:

The most egregious “rock” attack occurred on Beit Hanina Road in Jerusalem. The “rock” throwers accomplished their objective of causing the driver to crash her vehicle. That driver and her 3 children had to be evacuated to Hadassah Mt. Scopus for treatment. The “rock” throwers escaped.

Other “rock” and Molotov attacks took place north of the British Police Station, south of the T Junction in Gush Etzion, at Luban a-Sharqiya, Al Abuv, near Tekoa, and at more than a dozen locations.

There has been another drive-by shooting attack near Yitzhar today.

The slimy Bennett gets further into the muck . . .

If you read this blog yesterday, we reported that the Coalition government is conducting negotiations with the Joint Arab List with the aim of providing the Coalition government cover in the event no-confidence votes come up in the Knesset.

Yesterday, the ever unctuous Bennett said “there is no chance that the Joint Arab List will join forces with the current government.”

Israel By The Numbers

107: The age of Mimi Reinhard who died in Israel six days ago. She was in a concentration camp when Oskar Schindler rescued her by making her his secretary, and she became the one who typed up the famous list of 1200 Jews who were saved from the Nazis. She (her birth name was Carmen Weitman) was born in Vienna in 1915. She moved to Israel in 2007 to be near her son Sacha Weitman and his family.

Mimi Reinhard. May her memory always be for a blessing.

20,000: The number of trees that the non-profit HaYovel plans to plant in Judea and Samaria every year. For the last 15 years, the wonderful HaYovel has been bringing hundreds of volunteers to Israel to help develop Israel’s ancestral homeland.

19,000: The number of Jewish young people scheduled to come to Israel this summer under the Birthright program.

0.35%: The new interest rate in Israel issued by the Bank of Israel today. The old rate was 0.1%.

13: The number of Palestinian terrorists captured in Judea and Samaria last night.

Under-19: The Israel girls under-19 soccer team defeated Cyprus 3-0 and finished atop League B in the League of Nations. Kolakevod!

Great game...Congratulations!

4: The number of days until Passover begins on Friday night at sundown. Israelis are busy stocking up on food, and “selling” their chametz.

11:30 pm: The time when the Land of Israel group will begin marching to Joseph’s Tomb in Shechem tonight. That tomb was burned and broken into by Palestinians yesterday.

Palestinians attempted burn the tomb as well as break it apart with hammers.

In case you missed the photo yesterday, Palestinians attempted burn the tomb as well as break it apart with hammers.

50: The number of defibrillators that will be installed inside “driving test cars” around Israel. This follows two tragic accidents caused by testees having heart attacks during their test.

64: The age of Eytan Stibbe, Israel’s second person in space. Not an astronaut but a billionaire businessman, Stibbe is now at the International Space Station.
