Yom Hazikaron
Please stand at attention for two minutes this evening to remember all those who have fallen in defense of Israel and who have fallen in terror attacks against the country.
Yom Hazikaron begins at sundown tonight and extends until tomorrow evening. When it concludes, Israel Independence Day begins.
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
