Special Notice
Please note that your humble servant will be in transit to Israel for the next three days. OneIsrael will resume as normal from the land of milk and honey on Wednesday morning.
The Photo of the Day
You may remember that during the conflict with Palestinian Gaza last year, the IDF changed its routing of tanks from Israel’s northern border to its southern border so that the transport trucks carrying the tanks would not go through the Wadi Ara area which includes Umm Al-Fahm. The IDF idea was that if the tanks were transported through that area they would be subject to possible terror attack.
Then, on top of that, it turned out that it was almost impossible to move the tanks south anyway because most of the truck drivers are Israeli-Arabs–and they refused to ferry the tanks.
All in all, it was a pathetic statement about how Israel and the IDF now kowtow to Israeli-Arabs at every turn.
Back to the above sign. The mayor of Umm al-Fahm demanded this from Gantz and the sign was approved by Gantz and the Chief of Staff Kochavi.
You can draw your own conclusions.
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists attempted to run over Border Police near Jerusalem. No Israelis were wounded and 4 terrorists were captured.
Palestinian terrorists (Israeli-Arab residents of Wadi Ara) were captured attempting to smuggle 4 boxes of stolen IDF ammunition (about 4,000 bullets).
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks” and Molotovs attacked Israelis on the Hevron-Gush Etzion Road near Beit Omer, south of the Ma’ale Amos Junction, at Huwara south of Shechem, near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron, north of Ofra, and at several dozen other locations.
Palestinian threats in the last 24 hours . . .
Both Islamic Jihad and Hamas have now threatened that “all hell with break loose” if the Jerusalem Day Flag March takes place as planned on May 29. That march, which your humble servant intends to be part of, is scheduled to proceed through the Sha’ar Shechem (Nablus Gate) into the Muslim Quarter on its way through the Old City.
An assassination in Tehran . . .
According to reports in Iranian media, Revolutionary Guards Colonel Hassan Sayed Khodai was assassinated this morning in Tehran. He was shot five times by two gunmen on a motorcycle in front of his house on Majhadi al-Islam Street.
Of course, the Iranian authorities were quick to blame “the Zionists”. However, Khodai has been actively involved in the Syrian war against ISIS in recent years, and it would not be surprising if ISIS is responsible for Khodai’s death.
TODAY’S BLOG:
Israel’s Absurd “Pay To Stay” Government
You will recall, dear reader, that the phrase used for describing the PLO’s payment to murderous Palestinian terrorists is “Pay To Slay”. The more Israelis that a terrorist kills, the more money he or she will receive in prison (or their families will receive if they are killed).
To “Pay To Slay”, we can add “Pay To Delay” to refer to the blackmail money that Hamas receives in order to delay firing missiles at southern Israel. This amount is currently set at about $30 million dollars a month. “Delay”, is because at some point of Hamas’ choosing, the terror organization will open fire on Israel again.
Now we have our absurd Coalition government’s “Pay To Stay” scheme to keep itself afloat.
You will recall that several days ago we reported that Rinawi Zoabi of the Meretz Party had submitted her resignation to the Coalition and thereby thrown Israeli politics into a frenzy. It appeared that the government was on the verge of being toppled and that a no-confidence vote would be coming as early as Wednesday.
That is no longer the case as we can now see that Zoabi’s resignation was nothing more than a ploy for more money—a ploy that Bennett and Lapid have been all to happy to make successful over the past 48 hours.
Now, it turns out that Zoabi has retracted her resignation in return for 250,000,000 million shekels being doled out to each Arab Municipal Authority. This is in addition to the 50,000,000,000 billion shekels that the Coalition has doled out to Mansour Abbas and his Islamist Ra’am Party in order to secure its 4 Knesset votes. All of this is in addition to as yet unrevealed amount of money that the government has secreted to the Joint Arab List in order for them to support the Coalition “behind the scenes.”
In sum, take a moment and consider everything on this page today. Israeli-Arabs demand and receive outrageous sums of money to stay in the Coalition even as they refuse to be part of Israel.
