Chag Sameach! Happy Holiday!

The Jewish holiday of Shavuot–the festival of the harvest–began at sundown yesterday. One of the major holidays here in Israel, it is celebrated by family get-togethers–and eating lots of cheese. We at OneIsrael wish you a very happy holiday!

The News on the Israeli Street

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks” and Molotovs on Road 465 (military ambulance damaged), at Abud, Deir Abu Mashal, on Road 55, the Nabi Elias Bypass, at the Rantis gas station, Jaba Tzurif, (Israeli wounded), Hizma, Road 446 south of Nili Square, and between Efrat and the T Junction.

Palestinian terrorists attacked an IDF patrol with Molotovs near Madia. One terrorist was shot and wounded.

Palestinian terrorists using Molotovs set a house on fire at Ma’ale Zeitim.

Three Palestinian terrorists armed with grenades were captured at the Gaza border fence.

President Biden’s visit to Israel postponed, again . . .

First he was going to visit, then he wasn’t, then he was again. Then he was supposed to visit around June 13 and then June 23. Now the visit has been postponed until “sometime in July.”

The reason being given is that Biden doesn’t want to come here and meet with a shaky government that could fall at any moment.

Frankly, we here at OneIsrael wish he would not come at all and thereby avoid what is sure to be a PLO publicity bonanza with Biden meeting with Abu Mazen, going to Bethlehem, and visiting a hospital in eastern Jerusalem. However, read Today’s Blog below.

The Coming Three-Way Deal Between

Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the U.S.?

It is being widely reported this morning that a deal between the three countries is imminent.

According to the terms:

Saudi Arabia will completely open its airspace to Israeli flights thereby dramatically shortening flights from Israel to the Far East. Saudi Arabia already permits Air India to fly over on its routes from Israel to India, and Israeli airlines flying to and from the U.A.E. and Bahrain.

Israel will sign off on the handing over of the islands of Tiran and Sanafir from Egypt to Saudi Arabia. The islands between the Sinai and the Arabian peninsula control the entrance to the Gulf of Eilat, and Egypt is anxious to hand them over to Saudi Arabia in return for Saudi money. However, the Camp David Accords require Israeli approval for the hand over.

Mohammed bin Salman will also be partially removed from the American blacklist, with Biden even going to Saudi Arabia to shake his hand.

In return, Saudi Arabia will ramp up oil production to reduce gasoline prices in the U.S. ahead of the November elections.

Whether this deal will come to pass is unknown. King Salman of Saudi Arabia is far more conservative than his son, and may put the brakes on the agreement. In any case, the King will not permit full normalization with Israel.
