Special Note
Today’s Blog is somewhat abbreviated as our website undergoes its quarterly upgrade.
Photo of the Day
It is actually the Eshkol Reservoir (also referred to as Agam Bet Netofa) located off Road 77 in the north near the Memorial Monument to the Bedouin Warriors.
The Funny Photograph and Comment of the Day
So here we have Tapper, one of Israel’s harshest critics, putting on the phylacteries in the Ukraine (who knew he was Jewish?) where he went to interview President Zelenskyy. Who helped him celebrate Passover when he was there and guided him with the phylacteries? The local Chabad Rabbi who was sent there from Israel.
Tapper’s funny comment: “Believe it or not, there is a Chabad rabbi everywhere. When they land on Mars, there will be a Chabad rabbi who will say ‘Welcome.'”.
Funny but true. Chabad is everywhere.
The News on the Israeli Street
The daily Corona update . . .
4,757 Israelis tested positive yesterday bringing to 21,405 the number of active patients in the country.
The positive test rate was 20.91%; the coefficient of infection rose to 1.2%.
93 Israelis are seriously ill; 29 are critically ill—24 of these are on ventilators.
10,867 have died, none in the last 24 hours.
More scuttlebutt about imminent Coalition collapse . . .
It seems that we are now beset by ICCD (Israeli Coalition Collapse Disorder). As we noted in yesterday’s blog about Justice Minister Sa’ar, no day passes anymore without threats from some politician in the Coalition to leave.
This morning, we are hearing again from all sides with Knesset Legislator Nir Orbach apparently in talks to jump ship to Netanyahu’s Likud Party. We even have Shas leader Aryeh Deri saying that the Coalition is in its last throes and will be disbanded by the weekend.
Sure it will. Seeing is believing.
