The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
South of Shechem, Huwara, Mt. Hevron, numerous places on the Hevron-Gush Etzion Road, Road 458 beside Duma, Luban a-Sharqiya, Al Abud, Tekoa: these are among the two dozen places where Palestinian terrorists targeted Israelis.
Palestinian terrorists attacked an IDF post at Neve Tzuf with IEDs.
At least 3 terrorists were killed in Jenin early this morning in a firefight with IDF Golani troops. Various reports have as many as 6 killed and 11 wounded. Click here to see one of the bodies being paraded through the streets of Jenin.
All told, our forces have eliminated 60 terrorists so far this year–26 from the Jenin area.
The daily Corona update . . .
6,068 Israelis tested positive yesterday (out of 25,756 tested) bringing to 38,160 the number of active patients in the country.
The positive test rate was 23.56%; the coefficient of infection was 1.37%.
132 Israelis are seriously ill; 37 are critically ill—29 of these are on ventilators.
10,882 have died, none in the last 24 hours. This number is obviously false: the Health Ministry has not reported a death in 96 hours.
More concessions for Biden . . .
“Defense” Minister Benny Gantz via his Coordinator of Government Operations in the Occupied Territories (COGAT), Maj. Gen. Rassan Aliyan, announced yesterday: “after a security assessment, the Minister of Defense decided to increase the quota of permits for labor and trade in Israel by another 2,000–bringing to 14,000 the total number issued.”
Obviously, this is yet another sop to the Biden Administration in advance of Biden’s visit here on July 13.
More than this, the Bidenites have “requested” that PLO officials be allowed to join Israeli officials on the Israel side of the Allenby Crossing to and from Jordan. Gantz’s Defense Ministry is recommending that Israel accede to the request.
This seemingly minor Biden “request” actually has major sovereignty implications because for the first time it would enable the PLO to gain a foothold in the Jordan Valley.

Another Example Of Why Peace With The Palestinians Is Impossible
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) voted yesterday to expel Palestinian journalist Rafa Mismar. PJS is, in essence, the journalistic arm of the PLO inasmuch as its membership is primarily made up of the PLO’s Fatah faction.
Why was Mismar expelled?
Because she participated in last month’s joint Memorial Day Ceremony organized by the ultra left–wing Israeli organization Combatants for Peace. The ceremony remembers not only those who have fallen in the state of Israel in wars and terror attacks, but also Palestinians who have died. It is for this reason–the equating of terror victims with terror perpetrators–that has led your humble servant to denounce the ceremony.
Yet no matter how leftist Combatants for Peace is and no matter how much the ceremony portrays Palestinians as victims, the PJS characterized the ceremony as “a normalization conference . . . that disregards the rights of the Palestinian people. . . [Mismar’s] insistence of proceeding with the policy that is rejected by our people, institutions, and unions [perpetuates] the narrative of the occupation.”
So there you have it.
Not only is peace impossible but any semblance of “normalization” must be rejected.
How can there ever be peace when this is the mindset we Israelis face?
