“Rocks”, Sports, Cakes, And Earthquakes

Photo of the Day

Shir Lev

Shir Lev, badly wounded in the face in a “rock” attack near Psagot on Friday. Note the bandage over the breathing tube that had to be inserted in her throat.

Married with two children, Shir was attacked on the way to her parent’s house to celebrate her son’s birthday.

In an interview yesterday, she commented: “I woke up in the ER, vomiting blood, suffering terribly and that’s where the pain began . . . after the rocks and the ambulance, I don’t remember anything.”

She went on to say: “My health is better after very difficult days, The recovery from the surgery was difficult. My face is far from looking the way it should and I don’t know what the result will be either. The recovery is long and slow, but I am grateful for each little progress I make and today I saw a lot of progress.”

Kolakevod to Shir!

Each day (see below), we here at OneIsrael chronicle the endless “rock” attacks on the brave Israelis in Judea and Samaria.

Thank you to Arutz Sheva for the above information about Shir.

Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .

Palestinian terrorists attacked motorists with “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs south of Shechem at Huwara, between Anatot and Hizma, between Marda and the Ariel Junction, in Hevron, at Al-Abud, Luban a-Sharqiya, and at a number of other places.

Palestinian terrorists attacked a soldier’s bus near Kedomim and a regular bus between Hizma and Anatot and another bus on Mt. Scopus in Jerusalem.

A Palestinian terrorist armed with a gun and explosives set fire to an area near Migdal Oz, then waited in ambush for security forces to come and put out the fire. Fortunately, he was spotted before opening fire and captured.

Update on previous terror . . .

Eliezer Melish who was badly wounded in the screwdriver stabbing attack on the bus in Ramot has miraculously recovered and will be released from Sha’are Tzedek Medical Center this morning.

Click here to see this morning’s destruction of the house of the terrorist who murdered Vyacheslav Golev in Ariel several months ago.

Remember the video that we linked to last week showing the high school graduation ceremony in the Anata neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem which featured a performance in which a student “murdered” Knesset member Itamar Ben Gvir. This morning the principal of the school was arrested.

Today’s Corona update . . .

5,622 Israelis tested positive yesterday (out of 22,429 tested) bringing to 70,262 the number of active patients in the country.

The positive test rate was 25.07%; the coefficient of infection was 0.8%.

374 Israelis are seriously ill110 are critically ill99 of these are on ventilators.

11,300 have died–9 since yesterday.

In sports . . .

The Tour de France has ended and Israel-Premier Tech finished 12th in the overall standings with a time of 24 hours, 9 minutes, and 27 seconds. The team’s marvelous performance was capped by two stage wins and many podium visits (2nd or 3rd).

The Maccabiah came to a rousing end yesterday with Israel winning the gold in both Team Golf and Individual Golf as well as the bronze in basketball. The overall results will be available tomorrow.

A whole lot of shaking going on . . .

Scientists from Ariel University have discovered a relationship between large earthquakes (6+ on the Richter scale) and atmospheric changes.

Their research shows that changes in the ionosphere can predict large earthquakes 48 hours in advance with 80% accuracy.

Let them eat cake . . .

In a politically expedient meeting chaired by PM Lapid with this motley collection of participants: Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Oded Forer, Minister of Welfare and Social Security Meir Cohen, Minister of Justice Gideon Sa’ar, Chief of Staff Danny Wesley, Director General of the Prime Minister’s Office Naama Schultz, Director General of the Ministry of Economy Ron Malka, Accountant General Yehli Rotenberg, Head of the Budget Division at the Ministry of Finance Yogev Gordos, Deputy Director of Economics and Infrastructure at the Prime Minister’s Office Amir Barkan, it was determined that the price of bread will only rise by 5% now.

In December it will increase by 21%.

Why December? Because it will be after the election.

And so it goes in Israel today.
