As regular readers of OneIsrael know, we do not publish a blog on Shabbat but instead photos and videos for you to peruse.
Photo 1: The happy scene at the conclusion of the annual summer camp for “Widows and Orphans” of the IDF–an absolutely wonderful group!
Photo 2. Chief Armor Officer Brig. Gen, Ohad Najama astride one of his tanks. Najama said this yesterday on the eve of his retirement: “When you are pressed for time to reach a target and an enemy is aiming a sniper rifle at you and launches anti-tank missiles at you, and suddenly you hear under you the growl of your tank’s engine, its caterpillar treads touching the ground and breaking stones, you feel much safer. Fighting with a tank is fighting from another world.”
Photo 3. Israeli singer Lior Narkis and his band play to a rousing crowd of more than 8,000 cheering Israelis in Ramat Gan on Thursday night. Narkis’s romantic songs such as “Words for Love”, “Everyone Has”, and “Only With You” are all-time Israeli hits.
Photo 4. With temperatures continuing to soar, Israelis are flocking to nature. This photo was taken at the Kineret (Sea of Galilee) yesterday:
Photo 5. These two volunteers from the organization Yedid rescued a two-year-old boy who had been accidentally locked in a car by his mother in Petah Tikva. The mother told the two afterwards: “It’s a miracle that angels like you exist.”
On that happy note, we wish you:
