Photos of the Day
These soldiers in the engineering division are putting together food packets for the needy as part of a program by the Galgal Ha’ar organization.
One of the soldiers spoke eloquently about what he is doing and why: “When you are a fighter, you are used to giving. In your everyday life you give and sacrifice yourself for the sake of others, but there is something special about stopping the current tasks and operational activity and looking at the people you protect with your eyes and helping them in this way.”
Overcoming a serious foot injury, Israeli gymnast and Olympic champion Artem Dolgopyat won a gold medal for his floor routine at the European Artistic Gymnastics Championship in Munich yesterday. Artem received a score of 14.966 for his incredible performance.
Kolakevod to Artem and to all the Israeli athletes who are performing so well at this championship!
The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists continued their bus attacks striking a bus north of La-Suvia.
Click here to see another shooting attack on a bus–this one near Ramallah.
Two terrorists armed with a machine gun and ammunition were captured at the Hussan Crossing.
Palestinian terrorists using anti-tank rifles attacked Israelis near Taku.
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis with “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs on Road 446 near Deir Kadis, on Road 55 between Nevi Elias and Azzun, at a number of places on the Gush Etzion-Hevron road, and along Road 60 in Samaria.
Throwing in the Iranian towel . . .
Statements emerging today indicate that our pathetic government has completely thrown in the towel concerning stopping the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Appeasement Agreement.
PM Lapid is now describing what Israel is doing as “fighting a containment battle.”
Another unnamed senior official blathered on Israeli television today that “Until the last minute, we are struggling with the agreement, but without creating a crisis with the Biden Administration.”
In short, despite the fact that our very existence is threatened by the Iranian nuclear program, our cowardly leaders will not create a crisis with the Biden Administration in order to try to stop it.
Up, up, and up some more . . .
For the 4th consecutive month, the Bank of Israel will announce another hike in interest rates, perhaps as much as 0.75%.
We will have to wait to see what the impact will be on the already exorbitant cost of life here. For example, milk prices are already slated to rise 5% this week.
The continuing problem with drugs . . .
In fact, what you see in the photo is 100 kg of hashish worth about 1.5 million dollars. It was seized by soldiers of Battalion 411 working in conjunction with the Border Police.
Meanwhile here in Ashdod, police discovered a large marijuana “field” in an apartment:
The apartment was equipped with a sophisticated irrigation system, fertilizers, filters, air conditioners, and special lighting. It contained more than 1,000 plants–and had only been in operation for a week.
The ongoing and growing Sunfrost scandal . . .
As you may not know, Sunfrost is a subsidiary of Tnuva—a subsidiary that specializes in frozen vegetables. Over the years, Sunfrost peas, beans, corn, broccoli, etc, have become Israeli staples.
However, every day this week has brought a new story about other things found in Sunfrost vegetable packages. Thus far we have seen: a mouse head, a slug, part of a snake, a bird’s foot, a knife, and a latex glove.
Click here to see a short video of the mouse’s head found in a package of Sunfrost beans.
To say that Israeli consumers are freaked out is an understatement.
TODAY’S BLOG
“Conclusive Evidence”
Four days ago, Israeli authorities entered the offices of the seven organizations listed below, seized their records, welded closed their doors, and called them what they are: “organizations that support terror”:
Addameer (provides legal assistance to Palestinian terrorists)
Al-Haq (targets Israel at the International Criminal Court)
Defense for Children International-Palestine (provides legal aid to “children” mainly aged between 16-19 who are prosecuted for terrorism)
Union of Agricultural Work Committees (according to the group it “provides hands-on aid to Palestinians, including by rehabilitating land at risk of confiscation and helping tens of thousands of farmers in Area C – the more than 60 percent of the occupied West Bank under direct Israeli military control, and where all illegal Israeli settlements and settlement infrastructure are located.”)
Health Work Committees (supposedly “aims to build health infrastructure” under the aegis of the PLO and other terror entities)
Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees (according to the group: “Israel’s barbaric behavior comes in an oppressive colonial context against the legitimate rights of Palestinian women and their natural right to defend their national, social, cultural, legal and political rights.”)
Bisan Center for Research and Development (according to the group it works to “achieve “socioeconomic rights in the context of national liberation.”)
This morning brings the totally expected news that the United Nations, European Union, and U.S. State Department have all announced that they will continue working with these organizations.
Never mind that Israel has already provided evidence of their terror connections, the U.N., E.U., and U.S. say that the evidence is “not conclusive.”
The simple fact is that there will never be evidence conclusive enough to cause the U.N., E.U., and U.S. to sever ties with these organizations–just like there will never be evidence enough that would cause them to sever ties with PLO Chairman and arch-terrorist Mahmoud Abbas.
Even if every member of the organizations was a certified member of a terror organization and had carried out terror attacks against Israelis, it would not be enough. After all, that is precisely what Mahmoud Abbas has done–and the U.N., E.U., and U.S. State Department still love and support him.
