The News on the Israeli Street
Palestinian terror in the last 24 hours . . .
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs attacked Israeli buses northeast of Ramallah at Singil, in Jerusalem between the Mount of Olives and Ammunition Hill, and on Road 55 near Azzun.
Palestinian terrorists using “rocks”, Molotovs, and IEDs attacked Israeli motorists on Road 60 near Luban al-Sharqiya, at the small Yitzhar Junction, and at dozens of other locations in Gush Etzion.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire at an IDF pillbox near Nabi Salah that overlooks Road 465.
Palestinian terrorists planted an IED at the Beit El security fence.
IDF and Border Police along with personnel from Shin Bet captured 33 wanted Palestinians in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley overnight. Our forces operated in Dora, Hares, Deir El Asal, Beita, Tulkarm, Ezaria, Sawahra, and Abu Dis. Numerous automatic weapons and boxes of ammunition were also seized.
The Iranians close in on the bomb . . .
According to the IAEA, whose numbers are invariably understated, Iran has now refined 55.6 kilograms of uranium to 60%–and can easily and quickly produce an atomic bomb by continuing to refine this amount.
When not to fly in and out of Israel . . .
It is expected that more than 2,000,000 passengers will pass through Ben Gurion Airport in October; however, the busiest day will be September 22, on which at least 90,000 passengers will be at the airport.
TODAY’S BLOG
The Three Stooges Just Don’t Get It
In yesterday’s blog, we wrote about how the Americans now feel empowered to dictate to Israel all manner of things ranging from where IDF forces should be deployed to when IDF soldiers can open fire.
They feel empowered because our pusillanimous government has kowtowed to the Biden Administration on every conceivable point—even on points that affect Israeli sovereignty over land and sea territory.
Yesterday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Tom Nides reiterated the American demand to change IDF open fire orders in this subtly disguised tweet:
“The U.S. will push for the protection of journalists and their freedom of activity. We talked about the instructions to open fire – this is true not only for Israel, but also for the U.S.”
Immediately our three stooges, PM Yair Lapid, Associate PM Naftali Bennett, and “Defense” Minister Benny Gantz–the very people who have empowered the Biden Administration–issued a series of statements in response.
PM Lapid:
“I will not allow a soldier in the IDF to be prosecuted who defended his life from the fire of terrorists just so that we will receive applause abroad. No one will dictate to us instructions to open fire when we are fighting for our lives. Our soldiers have the full backing of the Israeli government and the people of Israel.”
Associate PM Naftali Bennett:
“The American intervention in the opening fire procedures of the IDF soldiers is a dangerous and unacceptable precedent.”
“Defense” Minister Benny Gantz:
“The U.S. will not dictate to the IDF instructions to open fire.”
Your humble servant doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Our three stooges just don’t get it. They cannot understand how their actions have brought us to this juncture with the Biden Administration.
And despite their comments above, we should not be surprised if Lapid, Bennett, and Gantz once again kowtow to the Bidenites.
