The High Holy Days Come To An End
Sukkot ends tonight at sundown followed immediately by Simhat Torah–the final holiday of the high holy day period. We wish all who celebrate the holidays a joyous conclusion to their holidays!
The Slanderous Quote of the Day
“The right-wing and the Netanyahu bloc are waiting and dying for some kind of terrorist attack in which a mother and four children will be murdered.”
Former PM Ehud Barak reportedly speaking to an Israeli journalist on television last night.
Barak’s vicious slander is part of an apparently coordinated election effort by the Israeli “left” to shift the focus from the egregious terrorism that is taking place to the right wing, Netanyahu, soldiers, Jewish community members (aka “settlers”) and anyone else they can throw mud at.
Shortly after Barak spoke, we had the head of the uber left-wing Meretz Party, Zehava Galon ranting: “The settlers are rioting against the Palestinians and this creates an escalation, there should be a stronger hand towards settlers. The Minister of Defense needs to restrain and moderate the IDF soldiers, there is a crazy increase in the number of Palestinians killed. “
Jewish communities members are rioting against Palestinians? Jewish community members are just trying to stay alive amidst shootings, bombings, IEDs, Molotovs, and “rock” attacks carried out by Palestinians.
To top off the coordinated barrage against the “right” today, we had an unnamed official in Shin Bet blathering “Right-wing elements are trying to inflame the Judea and Samaria.”
Right-wing elements are trying to inflame Judea and Samaria? The area has been on fire for months on end because of Palestinian terror attacks.

What “Purity of Weapons” Now Means
“No one ties the hands of the fighters, and no one authorizes shooting that is contrary to the purity of the weapon. Faced with a complex reality on the ground – the commanders and soldiers of the IDF and the security forces as a whole have full backing to carry out their mission and provide security to the citizens of Israel with determination and professionalism.”
“Defense” Minister Benny Gantz responding yesterday to the fact that our soldiers have been ordered not to fire proactively on terrorists.
Here we have Gantz talking out of both sides of his mouth again. On the one hand, “no one ties the hands of the soldiers”, and on the other hand he ties the hands of the soldiers “no one authorizes shooting that is contrary to the purity of the weapon.”
The simple fact is that soldiers are afraid to shoot even when they know a terrorist attack is imminent. A good example is what happened three days ago at Beit El. As we reported here at OneIsrael, soldiers who were in ambush of terrorists only shot and killed the terrorist after the terrorist had shot the young man.
The father of that young man said this today: “The fighters recognized the terrorists but could not shoot until the terrorists fired at us.”
“Purity of weapons” according to the IDF General Command now means that soldiers must expose themselves and civilians to gunfire from terrorists before they attack the terrorists. In other words, “purity of weapons” places a higher value on the life of terrorists than on the lives of Israeli soldiers and civilians.
