The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea, Samaria, and Jerusalem in the last 24 hours . . .
Shooting attacks:
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF troops at A-Zabadda. In the ensuing firefight, a number of terrorists were wounded. There were no physical casualties to our soldiers.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers in Aqaba in northwestern Samaria (not be confused with Aqaba, Jordan). No soldiers were wounded.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF soldiers in the Issawiya neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem.
IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists attempted to murder Israelis between the Tunnel Checkpoint and the Al-Khader Junction, at Hawara, Al Fawwar, north of Ofra, on Road 55 in the Nabi Elias Bypass, between Gilad Farm and the Sela outpost, at the Jit Junction, on Road 458 near Al Muayyir, and at a half dozen other locations.
Security operations overnight:
IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police captured 11 wanted Palestinian terrorists in Jifna, Habla, Eizariya, and Abu Dis.
A new proposal by the new government . . .
Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced yesterday that he is working on a plan that will 90% subsidize the purchase residential land in the Negev and Galilee for IDF veterans.
Druze soldiers in the IDF already receive this benefit, and it is about time that other soldiers receive the same benefit.
Take those flags down . . .
Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir instructed the Israeli Police yesterday to remove Palestinian flags that are hung or raised in any public space.
This directive came after photos came from the anti-government demonstration in Tel Aviv two nights ago which featured PLO flags, and the welcome home celebration for the terrorist murderer of soldier Avraham Bromberg which featured Israeli streets lined with PLO flags.
Off to the U.N. they go again . . .
The PLO announced this morning that they are going to protest to the U.N. the fact that Israel is now seizing tax monies to pay to victims of Palestinian terror. Of course, this will go quickly to the Security Council where Israel will be condemned yet again.
In the same announcement, the PLO declared that it will never stop paying salaries to Palestinian prisoners who are incarcerated because they killed or tried to kill Israelis. Of course, the U.N. will not discuss this because its members could care less about what happens to Israelis.
TODAY’S BLOG
Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner?
As of today, PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (aka Abu Mazen) will enter the 19th year of the 4-year term of office to which he was elected on January 9, 2005.
The only reason that Abbas won the election in 2005 is that the election was boycotted by Hamas. The reason he hasn’t run since then is because he knows that he would lose to Hamas.
By the way, where is the outcry in the Biden Administration, United Nations, and European Union about the lack of Palestinian democracy?
Nowhere to be seen.
But guess who’s coming to dinner in Israel?
Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan will be in Israel next week.
Why? To continue his incessant criticism of Israel about the new government’s “lack of democracy” and to try to strong-arm Israel into more concessions to the Palestinians.
He will be followed in short order at the end of this month by Biden’s Secretary of State Blinken who will reiterate everything Sullivan said.
You can be sure that both Sullivan and Blinken will do all they can while here to embrace the “democratic” Palestinians.
