Your humble servant took this photo last Friday down in the Shukba Forest beside Sderot. Tens of thousands of Israelis came to the area to show solidarity with the city and to picnic among the fields of red poppies.

Very close. Several days after we left, Sderot was struck again by missiles. But the city is amazingly resilient: the residents all say that they would not live anywhere else because of the comeraderie--and there is a huge building boom going on!
