The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
Shooting attack:
4 Palestinian terrorists opened fire at an IDF Golani force at the Jit Junction in Samaria. In the ensuing firefight, 3 terrorists were killed and 1 terrorist was captured.
“Rock” attack:
The most egregious “rock” attack of the day occurred in Huwara again.
Palestinian terrorists attacked a car carrying a male driver, his pregnant wife, and their 8 year old son. After his wife had been badly wounded in the chest with a “rock” and his son wounded as well, the man put his gun out of the window and fired into the air to frighten away the terrorists. Hearing the gunfire, IDF forces nearby accidentally opened fire on the car–fortunately hitting no one inside.
However, both the pregnant wife and the son had to be evacuated to Beilinson Hospital to treat their “rock” wounds.
Elsewhere:
IDF forces in Batir joined by Shin Bet personnel captured the Palestinian terrorist who planted the bomb on the bus in Beitar Illit two days ago. Four other terrorists who aided in planning the attack were also captured.
More about the terror attack in Dizengoff . . .
One of those wounded in the attack gave this account yesterday:
“Yesterday at about 8:40 p.m. we walked in Dizengoff from north to south, on the way to a close friend’s wedding, and right when I reached the intersection, one of my friends who was on my left was hit by a bullet from behind. After that, the terrorist moved to my side and also shot me from behind, I moved my head – and my cheek was hit. He fired one more bullet at my other friend. After my friends were shot and fell on the road, I tried to run towards the north and escape when the terrorist continued to run after me. He fired one more bullet at me but missed.”
The two friends alluded to in this account remain in critical condition in Ichilov Hospital and need your prayers.
Anti-government protests last night . . . hilarious and more hilarious . . .
According to the police, approximately 120,000 protesters were in the streets of Israel last night (90,000 of these were in Tel Aviv)..
According to protest organizers, 250,000 protested in Tel Aviv and elsewhere.
In what has become the laughable norm, organizers take the the police crowd estimates and multiply them by two.
Even funnier, take a look at this aerial photo from last night in Tel Aviv:
The red in the middle are the “Handmaid’s Tale” women who come to each protest dressed in red habits and white bonnets to perform.
One wonders if these “street artists” have ever really read Margaret Atwood’s novel about the egregious abuse of women because their appearance at the demonstrations has no connection whatsoever to the situation in Israel. One wonders how much they are paid to perform?
TODAY’S BLOG
Benjamin Netanyahu Is Responsible For Every Problem In The World
It has become a daily source of amusement to hear the latest problem that PM Netanyahu is responsible for.
In recent weeks:
Netanyahu is responsible for chaos in the streets.
Netanyahu is responsible for the high cost of childcare.
Netanyahu is responsible for high interest rates.
Netanyahu is responsible for high-tech companies leaving the country (perhaps less so after the SVP bank disaster this weekend).
Netanyahu is responsible for problems with the Biden Administration.
Netanyahu is responsible for . . .
Do you have clogged plumbing line in your house this morning? Netanyahu is responsible.
Do you have an ant problem on your patio? Netanyahu is responsible.
And on and on.
Yesterday, as Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed to resume diplomatic relations, the accusations against Netanyahu vomited forth again.
Naftali Bennett:
“This is a resounding failure of the Netanyahu government and stems from a combination of political neglect with general weakness and internal conflict in the country.
The countries of the world and the region are watching Israel in conflict with a dysfunctional government that is engaged in systematic self-destruction.
The Netanyahu government is a resounding economic, political and security failure, and every day of its operation endangers the State of Israel.”
Yair Lapid:
“The agreement is a complete and dangerous failure of the Israeli government’s foreign policy. This is what happens when you deal with legal madness all day, instead of doing the job with Iran and strengthening relations with the United States.”
Your humble servant doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
There has never been a government in the history of Israel that was more completely indifferent to what is going on in Iran than the Bennett-Lapid-Gantz government.
But the rapprochement between the Saudis and Iranians most recently began the minute that Joe Biden became president of the U.S. The Saudis saw the Bidenites relaxing sanctions on Iran and realized that Riyadh was being hung out to dry.
Since that moment, the news has been full of reports of an impending agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and we have reported on them here at OneIsrael.
As recently as October 19, 2022–before the November election–we wrote this short piece:
“Talk about a double slap in Biden’s face . . .
The already disastrous relationship between U.S. President Joe Biden and the leaders of Saudi Arabia deteriorated even more today.
Not only is Saudi Arabia refusing to support Biden’s oil policy, the rulers in Riyadh this morning said that they want to join BRICS–the organization of the “five major emerging economies” (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa). As you can imagine, the group is headed by Russia and China.”
But never mind any of this, Benjamin Netanyahu is to blame.
