The Photo of the Day
In related news, the Alma Institute reported yesterday that Hezbollah has numerous missiles pre-targeted to attack Israeli gas wells in the Mediterranean. Those missiles include: Chinese C-802s, Iranian “Noors” “Qadirs” and “Fars”, Pakistani “Netzers”, and Russian “Yakhonts.”
There is no shortage of countries willing to give or sell Hezbollah missiles to use in attacking Israel.
The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
Shooting attack:
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on an IDF force operating near Bethlehem. Our forces returned fire and killed 1 terrorist. This was the 93rd Palestinian terrorist that has been eliminated so far this year.
IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists carried out attacks against Israeli children, women, and men at Hawara, on Road 55 near Kedumim and at Azzun, Psagot, between Einbus and Beit Nazam Shimsa, Al-Abuv, and at numerous places along the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road.
Palestinian terrorists wounded Israelis near the Ahovia Farm. The wounded had be be evacuated to Sha’are Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. The terrorists escaped.
Speaking of terrorists . . .
Try to wrap your mind around this.
One month ago, a Palestinian terrorist in Aqbat Jaber was killed as he was throwing a Molotov at our soldiers.
It turns out that the father of the terrorist works in Kibbutz Almog.
Yesterday, residents of the Kibbutz were shocked to learn that the the kibbutz’s management had approved and given a $600 payment to the father “to compensate him for his loss.”
One resident had this to say: “For 21 years we have been fighting every day to hold on to life because of despicable Palestinian murderers, and we are not ready to be a part of giving money to murderers behind our backs who will continue to harm us, our brothers, our friends – the entire nation. What brazenness , disgrace, and shame!!!!”
Indeed. Brazenness, disgrace, and shame on the part of the kibbutz management.
TODAY’S BLOG
A Tale Of Two Photos
Yesterday we posted this photo of the “million person” rally in Jerusalem two nights ago. The photo was posted on an Israeli mainline news source and recirculated to other media sources to show that around 200,000 people were at the demonstration:
As you can see from yesterday’s caption, your humble servant surmised that it was only a small portion of the pro-government demonstrators.
Just how correct we were is shown by this photo that was posted yesterday (I have circled the portion of the photo that appears above):
All of which leads us to believe that at least 500,000 were at the demonstration on Wednesday night.
Do numbers matter? Of course they do–especially when the Opposition was laughingly commenting that only about 100,000 people came to support the government and the reforms.
The support for the government and reforms is strong.
