Yom Shabbat

Regular readers of OneIsrael know that we do not publish a blog on Shabbat unless circumstances warrant. Instead, we offer a few photos from the last few days here in Israel for your perusal:
Photo 1:
Despite all the efforts of BDS to intimidate entertainers who want to come to Israel, they continue coming. This is Swedish singer Svid performing at Yad Eliyahu on Thursday night.
Photo 2:
Temperatures keep rising hitting nearly 40 C in the Kineret area yesterday. Here a couple has taken refuge under an umbrella–note that the man with the back to the camera is sitting in a lawn chair.

The scene in Haifa yesterday on Mt. Carmel as two Jews pray in the Cave of Elijah–so named because the Prophet Elijah is believed to have prayed there before challenging the priests of Baal (1st Kings 18-19). The cave is also holy to the Druze and Christians. Sick people brought to the cave are said to have experienced “miracle cures.”
Photo 4:
Lighting a torch to remember all the soldiers who gave their lives to defend Israel in the Yom Kippur War. The “Laoram” ceremony was held by the IDF’s Southern Command to remember those fighters who fell 50 years ago.
Photo 5:
Due to the extreme heat, all outdoor fires are banned as of today–this announcement from Israeli firefighters.
On that note, we here at OneIsrael wish you:
SHABBAT SHALOM
