The Quote of the Day
“I am proud of our generals in all sectors and especially these days in the generals in Judea and Samaria. Brigade commanders who stand at the head of their men, fight terrorism and protect the citizens of Israel while risking their lives, and are also at the head when it is necessary to prevent harm to Palestinian residents, unfortunately by Israeli citizens – these two tasks serve the security of the state and its citizens. Their important work deserves all appreciation, and I backs them up fully and uncompromisingly.”
IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi at the appointment and rank ceremony last night.
It is unsurprising yet disgusting that Halevi equates protecting the citizens of Israel with protecting Palestinian “residents” in Judea and Samaria.
How did we ever get to the point where an IDF Chief of Staff--in the midst of a bloody Palestinian terror campaign against Jews in Judea and Samaria–thinks that protecting Palestinians is equal in importance to protecting the victims of Palestinian terror?
Simple.
Years of indoctrination in IDF General Command seminar after seminar by faux human rights organizations has brought us to where we are now.
The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
Palestinian terrorists launched a rocket towards Israel from the area around Jenin. Jenin is quickly becoming Gaza.
IED, Molotov, and “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists attacked Israelis between Tapuach and Migdalim, on the Gush Etzion-Hevron Road near Beit Omer, south of Givat Assaf, Hawara south of Shechem, on Road 55 near Azzun (Israelis wounded), on the Gilad Highway near the HaSela IDF post, between Umm Salmona and Efrat (Israeli wounded), and at more than a dozen other locations.
More apartments for Judea and Samaria! . . .
In the wake of the terror attack at the gas station near Ali in which 4 Israelis were murdered, 5,700 more apartments were approved yesterday including 1000 in Ali.
This brings to more than 15,000 that have been approved in the last few months.
In the lighter news . . .
Israeli actress Gal Gadot will become the first Israeli ever honored by having a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This may not seem like such a big deal, but it is one small step in the culture war waged continuously against Israel.
Where are Israelis going on vacation? . . .
According to the analyst company ForwardKeys which has analyzed Israeli ticket purchases for July 1-August 31, these are the top 7 destinations in order:
1. Bangkok, 2. Paris, 3. London, 4. Denpasar, Bali (Israelis still cannot enter Indonesia with an Israeli passport), 5. Barcelona, 6. Lisbon, 7. Istanbul (a hotspot for Israeli-Arab tourists)
Thank you Joe Biden . . .
In Israel’s never ending quest to get Israelis a visa exemption to the U.S., two announcements were made yesterday:
First, Israel will now begin to allow Palestinians in Gaza to fly directly from Ramon Airport in the south to Turkey. This wonderful change will allow Hamas terrorists to easily fly back and forth to Ankara where they maintain some of their terror headquarters.
Second, Israel will now allow Palestinian-Americans (aka American-Palestinians) to enter Israel through Ben Gurion Airport and then travel around the country unimpeded. This wonderful change will facilitate money transfers from American sources to PLO and Hamas recipients here (these transfers have been recently documented on Israeli television)
So, how absurd is all of this?
We get a visa exemption by exposing ourselves to more Palestinian terror. Thank you President Biden.
