The Quote of the Day
What a shameful Cabinet effort to grant concessions and benefits to the PLO. What greater absurdity can there be that in the midst of a wave of terror, the group that encourages terrorism, pays salaries to terrorists and their families, encourages in the education system incitement to murder Jews, and takes over territories in Judea and Samaria, will receive a basket of concessions from the Israeli government. I am sure that the rest of my cabinet members, the ministers of the right-wing government, will join my position and will not give their hand to this proposal.”
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir referring to the outrageous concessions to the PLO which will be proposed in the political and security cabinet today. Those concessions include the development of a maritime gas field off the coast of Gaza, development of new industrial zones in Areas A and B, expanding of already expanded ease of movement of Palestinians from Jordan to Israel and vice versa via the Allenby Crossing, increasing tax benefits for the “poor Palestinians,” and more.
Just unbelievable.
Unfortunately, despite Ben Gvir’s objections, the concession “package” will undoubtedly pass because Netanyahu has the votes in the Cabinet.

More anti-government anarchy overnight . . .
“Excuse me but probably the protesters are just stupid. If they really think that the reasonableness clause is part of a dictatorship, they have been suffering from being mind-controlled or have been brainwashed.”

TODAY’S BLOG:
The Anarchist Attempt To Undermine Israel Intensifies
“If the reasonableness clause passes the Knesset and becomes law, I call on the pilots, members of the Military Special Operations Division, and other elite units to refuse to serve in the IDF.”
Former PM Ehud Barak in a statement yesterday that undermines the very foundation of the state of Israel–and puts all of us at risk.
Let’s begin today by reviewing the so-called “reasonableness clause” which is an integral part of judicial reform effort by the government.
As it stands now, Israeli courts led by the Supreme Court, can overturn government laws and decisions by finding them “unreasonable.”
Yes, you read that correctly.
In the absence of any legal reason for overturning such laws and decisions, members of the judiciary can simply and subjectively decide that a law or decision is “unreasonable” and overturn it.
In short, the Court has arrogated to itself absolute power.
No court that your humble servant knows of in any western country has such power.
What is more, the Attorney General has decided herself that she too can dispense “opinions” and “advice” on the basis of “unreasonableness.”
Tomorrow on Monday, the Knesset is expected to approve the first reading of the reasonableness clause. The proposed law would prevent the judiciary from using the “reasonableness” doctrine to review decisions made by the cabinet, government ministers and other elected officials.
In short, it forces the courts to rely on law.
What a horrible idea! What an abhorrent concept! How undemocratic!: these are the absurd cries that are coming from the anarchist, anti-government left.
The anti-government leaders have already indicated that Tuesday will be a day of national resistance which will include demonstrations, marches, convoys and disruptions throughout the country. Highway 1 will be closed again, and an attempt will be made to also close down Ben Gurion Airport.
Anarchy. Unremitting anarchy. Anarchy that disrupts the lives of all Israelis.
Anarchy whose ultimate goal is to bring down the democratically elected government of Israel.
