The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
*Palestinian terrorists throwing Molotovs set fire to the IDF base at the entrance to Beit Omer north of Hevron. No Israelis were wounded; the terrorists escaped.
*Shin Bet thwarted a terror cell that was planning to kidnap a soldier and carry out shooting and IED attacks against IDF forces in the Binyamin area. 9 terrorists affiliated with Hamas were captured.
*Another terror squad was captured by an undercover unit of Border Police along with the Israel Police and air support from the IAF. The squad was holed up in three locations.
Shooting attacks:
Palestinian terrorists fired on IDF troops in Jalazon near Ramallah.
Palestinian terrorists fired on IDF troops operating in Bido.
Molotov, IED, “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists attacked at Turmusay’ya, on Road 55 in the Nabi Elias Bypass, at Havat Gilad, Luban al-Sharqiya, at other places on Road 60 northeast of Ramallah, and other places.
Israel’s credit rating . . .
The endless anti-government “protests” aside, Fitch gave Israel a credit rating of A+ today.
By comparison, Fitch recently lowered the U.S. credit rating to AA+.
In response to the Fitch rating of Israel, PM Netanyahu had this to say: “This confirms what I have been saying for a long time: we have a strong economy, those who invest in Israel gain, those who leave Israel lose – and people understand that.”
TODAY’S BLOG
Two Disgusting Photos of the Day
Photo 1:
The home you see was built 9 months ago, and the destruction came out of the blue this morning when bulldozers showed up before dawn.
According to the Coalition agreement, no destruction like this is supposed to take place without the consent of Deputy Defense Minister Smotrich–unless there is “an urgent need” in which case Defense Minister Galant makes the decision.
What urgent need was there today?
None–except to exact revenge on Jewish community members for what happened at Burka last week.
Your humble servant had hoped that with the advent of the Coalition government last January that scenes like the above destruction of a Jewish home in our ancestral homeland in Judea and Samaria would no longer appear.
How wrong I was.
Photo 2:
The depths of depravity to which the anti-government movement has descended is indescribable.
Whether they are scenes like the above, or desecrating the grave of PM Netanyahu’s father, or writing offensive graffiti on the wall of Minister of Justice Levin’s house while he was sitting shiva for his father, or a thousand other desecrations, the “people” who perpetrate these heinous acts are devoid of any decency.
