The News on the Israeli Street
The war in Judea and Samaria.
Shooting attacks:
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on IDF troops in Al Fawwar. No Israelis were wounded; 1 terrorist was shot.
Palestinian terrorists opened fire on Israelis at Esh Kodesh.
IED, Molotov, “rock” attacks:
Palestinian terrorists tried to murder Israelis on Road 55 at the Nabi Elias Bypass, between Khivu Anat and Hizma, Khusra, and at many other locations.
The war on the Gaza border . . .
Why Israel allows Hamas to fire missiles like this is impossible to understand. One of the missiles misfired this morning. Parts of it hit Zikim several miles to the north of Gaza and just south of Ashkelon setting off red incoming missile warning sirens.
In other news this morning, 3 Islamic Jihad terrorists were seriously injured in a “work accident.” We can all hope that their serious injuries will devolve into something much worse.
Syria again . . .
Israeli aircraft struck in eastern Syria overnight in the area of Deir Ez-Zor hitting yet another shipment of weapons from Iran to Beirut.
TODAY’S BLOG
The Biden Administration’s Nonsensical Meddling, Again
There is no end to the chutzpah of the Bidenites in Washington. No issue in Israel is beyond their purview.
As anyone who lives in Israel can tell you, dear reader, building any sort of building immediately immerses one in a quagmire of bureaucracy. For example, my next door neighbors here in Ashdod have been trying to renovate their house for the past three years. There are at least 10 steps of approval required before they can begin work. So far, they are up to step 7.
So when we hear that two residential apartments were built by self-described Palestinians in eastern Jerusalem without a permit, we all understand that the municipality will destroy the apartments.
This is what happens in Israel no matter what your ethnicity, background, or religion. Municipal administrations regularly destroy illegally built buildings, apartments, rooms, and even patios–fine the people who built them–and demand a permit. Here in Ashdod, the municipality even has a helicopter that circles the city once a week taking photographs and looking for illegal structures.
So back to Jerusalem.
Two apartments were built illegally by a Palestinian family that does not even live in Jerusalem. They were destroyed.
So what?
The Biden State Department issued this statement:
“Israel and the Palestinian Authority must avoid unilateral steps that exacerbate tensions and undermine efforts to advance negotiations on a two-state solution. This includes the practicality of demolitions and forced evictions of families from homes they have lived in for generations.”
Unilateral steps? Demolitions? Forced evictions? Lived in for generations?
Just plain nonsense–and what right do the Bidenites have to say anything anyway? If the Palestinian family had wanted to build apartments, it should have gotten a permit like everyone else.
