UPDATE 11:00 PM

The news worsens in this last update of the day.

The number of Israelis murdered today now stands at 250, and the number wounded has topped 1,500 with all those wounded in missile barrages during the last 90 minutes.

Missiles continue falling and our home here in Israel continues to be rocked by explosive blasts.

The District Commander of the Police has ordered the destruction of the Sderot Police Station in order to kill the terrorist inside–rather than risk lives by trying to attack the building. It turns out that the supposed hostages inside the building are, in fact, dead.

9 Bedouins were killed today: 7 by direct missile hits, 2 by gunfire from terrorists on the ground. The above information about the Bedouins illustrates three uncomfortable truths about the missile fire today: first, the missiles being fired by Hamas and Islamic Jihad have become much more accurate; second, Hamas and Islamic Jihad have discovered how to beat the Iron Dome; third, the Iron Dome’s performance today has, in the words of one commentator, been “pitiful.”

We have endlessly criticized U.S. President Biden in this blog, but his statement of support for Israel at the White House a few minutes ago was wonderful and much needed at this dark hour.

As bad as the news is at the moment, it will get much worse over night as the full scope of the disaster becomes clear.

UPDATE 9:00 PM

The death toll continues to rise: “at least” 200 Israelis have been murdered today.

Again, it is being reported that this number does not reflect the reality of the situation. Apparently there were massacres of residents in many border communities.

UPDATE 8:15 PM

A barrage of missiles just struck Tel Aviv and sent us to our bomb shelter here in Ashdod.

The death toll: 15o Israelis have been murdered today. 1100 are wounded.

Hamas says that it has kidnapped “dozens of soldiers and officers”. Horrific video is now being shown worldwide of IDF hostages being possibly stomped to death in Gaza–and women and children, bound, beaten, and dragged bloodily into Gaza. 

None of these videos are being shown on Israeli TV.

Incredibly and sickeningly, in the recent bombings in Gaza by the IAF, we are still warning Hamas 10 minutes before striking. 

UPDATE 7:30 PM

We are all waiting for what is sure to be a devastating update on the number of dead and kidnapped.

As of this hour at the three major firefight locations:

*Apparently, there is 1 terrorist left in the Sderot Police Station. However, it is believed that there are a number of wounded Israelis that he is using as a shield.

*Apparently, there are 4 terrorists left in Ofakim–all barricaded in a house.

*The situation in Be’eri remains critical with an unknown number of terrorists holding at least 50 Israelis hostage as human shields.

There is still no definite word on how many Israelis have been kidnapped to Gaza–but the number is significant. A large number of people are reported as “missing.” In one case, a man reports that his wife and two daughters are missing–but their cellphones show that they are in Khan Younis in Gaza.

The border area remains unsecure with major holes in the fence and terrorists moving through them into Israel.

At this point, Israelis could care less about destroyed buildings. We want to see dead terrorists such as these reported by the IDF in this statement a few minutes ago: “aircraft killed two terrorists who tried to cross the perimeter fence near the Karni crossing, nine more terrorists were killed in the area of Kibbutz Nirim, and another four were killed in the Erez crossing and Kibbutz Nir Oz by fighter jets. Additional terrorists were killed in Kibbutzim Sufa, Kfar Gaza and Kerem Shalom.”

It is estimated that some 1000 terrorists entered Israel during the day; more than 100 have now been killed.

UPDATE 5:00 PM

Since 6 am this morning, more than 100 Israelis have been murdered and 900 more are wounded in hospitals. Out of that 900 at least 100 are in critical condition.

After 11 hours, the IDF finally confirms that there are soldiers in every Israeli community that has been taken over by terrorists.

There is an ongoing firefight between terrorists holed up in the Sderot Police Station and IDF troops.

A unit of the special forces has just killed 9 terrorists in Kibbutz Nirim, and is working their way house by house to clear the community.

The terrorists in Gaza continue firing one volley of missiles at southern Israel every three minutes. In the last hour, missiles have targeted the following communities numerous times: Kfar Aza, Netivot, Nahal Oz, Beit Gedi, Sdot Negev, Idan Negev, Nir Oz, Ofakim.

It has now been reported that units of the Israeli navy killed dozens of Hamas terrorists along the coast this morning as they tried to use rubber boats to attack from the sea.

In the last few minutes, IDF forces on the northern border repelled a Hezbollah force on motorcycles near Metulla.

Terrorists opened fire on police in eastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Shuafat. 2 terrorists were killed.

UPDATE 4:00 PM

The battle being waged by civilians and IDF soldiers against the terrorists can best be described as heroic.

The IDF has flooded the area with units from Israel’s special forces. They have been especially operational in Sderot where many terrorists have been killed but shooting continues.

All day, the IDF has been experiencing command and control problems. To resolve the situation, the IDF has divided the Gaza border communities into limited areas and above each of them placed a brigadier general or a colonel.

The worst situation appears to be in Kibbutz Be’eri where at least 50 Israeli children, women, and men are being held hostage.

Numerous foreign workers in the greenhouses along the border were kidnapped and taken to Gaza including Thais, Filipinos, and Nepalis. The Nepal government reports 17 Nepalis were kidnapped.

UPDATE 3:30 PM

As predicted, the number of Israeli dead and wounded continues to rise.

Thus far, 40 Israelis are reported killed and 740 wounded in the attacks today. Due to the extraordinarily high number of critically wounded, this number will continue to rise in the coming hours.

There is still no update on the number of Israelis kidnapped and taken to Gaza beyond the 35 previously reported.

Intense fighting is taking place in the communities that Hamas has taken control of. At least, the IDF has taken back the IDF Gaza command headquarters after bloody fighting.

Missiles continue falling by the minute. More than 4,000 have been fired at Israel since the war started this morning.

UPDATE 1:15 PM

The situation continues to worsen with Hamas drones now dropping bombs on our soldiers and civilians. 

It turns out that one site held by the Hamas terrorists is the headquarters of the IDF Gaza Division.

Who knows what treasure trove of information that the terrorists have reaped? 

As we have often written here at OneIsrael, the IDF General Command should be sacked. They have absolutely no idea what they are doing, and now it has dearly cost our beloved country.

UPDATE 1:00 PM

Finally, the IAF has begun hitting targets in Gaza.

The number of wounded Israelis has risen to 545.

2 Israeli ambulances have been hijacked to Gaza. 1 Israeli paramedic was killed.

A missile has hit the oil tanks at the Rothenburg power plant in Ashkelon causing a huge fire which will most likely spread to nearby homes.

The first terror attack in Judea and Samaria has happened since Hamas issued a call for attacks earlier this morning. A terrorist tried to infiltrate Beit Aryeh. He was shot and killed.

UPDATE 12:30 PM

As of this hour, 9 Israeli locations remain under Hamas control including the city of Sderot, an IDF army base, and 7 Israeli kibbutzim.

Yes, you read that correctly. The city of Sderot and an IDF army base.

Unbelievable.

As noted in PM Netanyahu’s statement below, the IDF is currently focused on taking back these locations. In a number of kibbutzim, the terrorists have barricaded themselves in a building surrounded by children and women hostages.

MADA has just issued a statement that “at least 22 Israelis have been killed.” This number is projected to rise dramatically in the coming hours. More than 350 have been wounded–70 of these are in critical condition.

UPDATE 12:00 PM

PM Netanyahu has just issued this statement: “We are at war, not an operation. Hamas has launched a murderous surprise attack against the State of Israel and its citizens. I ordered first of all to cleanse the communities of the terrorists who had infiltrated and ordered a large-scale mobilization of reserves. The enemy will pay a price it has never known.”

There are endless reports from residents of kidnappings of Israeli citizens. One of the worst hit kibbutzes is Be’eri on the Gaza Border where terrorists went into homes, pulled people out of bomb shelters, stripped them naked, and took them to Gaza.

Complete Catastrophe!

The IDF has confirmed that Hamas has taken control of 7 Israeli communities on the border.

Hamas terrorists have bulldozed holes in the security fence. Hundreds of terrorists are pouring into Israel.

Soldiers in outposts are surrounded.

Men, women, in children in communities are calling into Israeli TV pleading for help as we hear terrorists in their homes yelling Allahu Akbar in the background. Hours after the initial attacks there are still no IDF or police forces arriving to protect them.

We have just emerged from our bomb shelter here in Ashdod for the 15th time since 6 am. 

UPDATE 11:00 AM

The government is issuing no information about the disastrous situation.

We have no idea how many dozens of Israelis have been kidnapped and killed.

One person killed was Ofir Liebstein the head of the Sha’ar Negev Council who was gunned down by terrorists an hour ago as he attempted to defend a group of people.

The number of missiles fired has been revised downward from the original report of 5,000. According to the IDF, “only” 2,500 missiles have been fired so far.

We now have the ridiculous situation of Hamas “reporters” embedded in terrorist units broadcasting live to Gaza from Israeli communities.

Just two days ago, senior members of the IDF General Command told the Netanyahu Cabinet there there was no imminent threat from Hamas.  Shades of how the Yom Kippur war started. 

UPDATE 10:30 AM

Hamas is claiming that it has kidnapped 35 Israeli civilians and soldiers. This is completely unconfirmed.

More than 150 Israelis have been wounded and taken to hospitals. There is no report on how many Israelis have been killed.

The terrorists continue taking attacking and taking hostages in Israeli communities.

Ben Gurion Airport has been closed.

UPDATE 10:00 AM

Another 100 missiles in the last 15 minutes. More communities along the Gaza border infiltrated. Hamas has called for terrorists in Judea and Samaria to join it. Israeli aircraft are in the air along the Lebanon border to deter a possible attack from Hezbollah.

Nearly 100 Israelis have been wounded, many critically.

UPDATE 9:45 AM

The situation has only worsened in the last hour with more than 100 locations being hit by missiles. 

Here in Ashdod, we have been in our bomb shelter 7 times in the last 60 minutes. More than a dozen missiles targeted Ashdod 10 minutes ago.

Scenes of burning apartments and homes, the army in the streets, terrorist invasions of kibbutzim on the Border are flooding in. Whispered telephone pleas from residents of Gaza communities are being heard on Israeli tv channels for the IDF to come because terrorists are going from house to house.

Hamas has announced that it has kidnapped 5 soldiers.

It is reported that terrorists have taken over the police station in Sderot. There is a firefight between the IDF and terrorists.

Reports are pouring in from all directions. It is impossible to know how bad the situation actually is.

One report from Netivot in the last few minutes is that a truckload of terrorists shot dozens of Israelis who were at a “nature party” in the Netivot Forest. 

The terrorists have posted a video of an IDF soldier they have kidnapped on the Gaza border.

The missiles continue raining down on Israel.

Residents on the ground in Sderot report pitched battles between citizens and terrorists who have infiltrated the city. Apparently the terrorists are trying to kidnap citizens and soldiers.

More reports of wounded from communities along the border as well as cities here in the south and in Tel Aviv.

Missiles continue exploding by the dozens all around us here in Ashdod.

According to news reports, 5000 missiles have been fired at Israel in the last two hours. We cannot independently confirm this.

Where is the IDF? There appears to have been no Israeli response so far. Why are we waiting for “several hours” for PM Netanyahu to have a security meeting?

UPDATE 7:45 AM

An unprecedented attack on Israel.

We now have video of truckloads of heavily armed terrorists who have entered the area around Sderot through a hole in the “security” fence. At least 4 groups of infiltrators have been identified.

More reports indicate the terrorists are in Ashdod and Beersheva. Police here in Ashdod are going through neighborhoods telling everyone to stay indoors and lock their doors.

We also have video of heavily armed paragliders flying into Israel from Gaza.

Meanwhile the explosions continue all around us.  300 missiles have hit Israel.

UPDATE 7:30 AM

The Home Command has instructed all Israelis to lock their doors–terrorists have infiltrated Israel by sea, tunnels, and paragliders.

There is a report of a Palestinian vessel that was hit off the coast here in Ashdod, and of a Kibbutz on the Gaza border where terrorists are attacking.

At least 250 missiles have been fired so far in a continuing attack. At least 1 Israeli is dead. There are multiple direct hits on apartments and homes.

We have awakened here in Ashdod to a massive missile attack on central and southern Israel. There have been many direct hits and casualties. We remain in our bomb shelter. More updates to follow.
