Ten more Israeli hostages and 2 more Thais are now free in Israel. These are the Israelis released:
Ada Sagi, 75, Nir Oz
Meirav Tal, 54, from Rishon Lezion, kidnapped in Nir Oz
Noralin Babadilla, 60, from Yehud, kidnapped in Nirim
Tamar Metzger, 78, Nir Oz
Ditza Heiman, 84, Nir Oz
Clara Marman, 63, Nir Yitzhak
Gabriela Leimberg, 59, from Jerusalem, kidnapped in Nir Yitzhak–and her daughter Mia Leimberg, 17, from Jerusalem, kidnapped in Nir Yitzhak
Ofelia Roitman, 77, Nir Oz
Rimon Kirsht, 36, Nirim
If you recall from our first update, this release means that there are still 8 children in captivity. Some of the elderly women do not appear to be in good condition.
UPDATE 8:00 PM
Tonight’s 10 hostages are in the hands of the Red Cross with no indication of who they are or when they will cross into Israel.
The Slippery Slope
One ceasefire becomes another ceasefire becomes another ceasefire becomes . . . It is now expected that there will be another 2-day extension after the current extension.
If the war resumes–and that is an increasingly big if–it will not happen before Sunday or Monday.
UPDATE 6:00 PM
On the Ground in Gaza
The last few hours have seen major HamISIS violations of the ceasefire.
HamISIS terrorists have opened fire on IDF soldiers several times this afternoon. Our troops were in designated “ceasefire zones”, but they were attacked anyway.
Two more attacks occurred almost simultaneously in different areas.
First, in the Rantisi Hospital area, a remotely activated IED exploded beside a Merkava Armored Personnel Carrier as reserve soldiers from the 261st Brigade were boarding the vehicle.
Second, another IED blew up beside a tank of the 401st Brigade.
4 IDF soldiers were wounded in these two attacks. The terrorists escaped.
Both of these attacks were entirely predictable. How many times have we written here that the ceasefire puts our soldiers at increased risk?
Three More Soldiers Have Fallen in Battle
Three more IDF soldiers are now listed as having been killed on October 7, and their bodies taken by terrorists to Gaza. How we know this is not entirely clear.
The three soldiers are:
Sgt. Tomer Yaakov Ahimas, 20 years old, from Malhabim, Brigade Commander Liaison
Sgt. Kiril Brodski, 19, from Ramat Gan, Brigade Commander
Sgt. Shaked Dahan, 19, from Afula, a fighter in the 77th Battalion, 7th Brigade
May their memories be for a blessing.
We Know Where The Hostages Are
According to the IDF, we now know where a good number of the hostages are, but are reluctant to try to rescue them because of the fear of Palestinian “civilian” deaths.
Keep Praying!
Wonderful news from Soroka Hospital: Alma Avraham who has been listed in critical condition and was sedated and on a ventilator is now conscious and breathing on her own. She is not out of the woods yet, but according to the doctors, her condition has dramatically improved.
UPDATE 12:00 PM
More About The Conditions the Hostages Endured
(and Many Are Still Enduring)
Yesterday, we noted how women were held in cages.
According to one hostage yesterday, they only had rice and pieces of a small pita to eat irregularly. On many days, they had nothing to eat. They wore the same clothes they were kidnapped in for 50 days, and at no time were able to bathe or take a shower.
Talk about Insanity
As part of the agreement with HamISIS today, Israel will release 22 Israeli-Arab prisoners.
Yes you read that correctly.
We are creating a situation in which Israeli-Arabs will feel beholden to HamISIS.
What in the world is our government thinking about?

A Correction
A correction from last night about who remains in captivity: apparently the IDF Spokesman’s statement did not take into account who was released last night. The correct numbers (believed to be correct because there are still people who are “missing”):
160 hostages remain in captivity, 49 of those are from Nir Oz where the releasees last night came from
Of that 160, there are:
3 female children, 6 male children, 32 women between 19 and 60 years of age, 100 men between 19 and 60 years of age, 9 women over age 60, 16 men over age 60.
The Ceasefire Extension
Supposedly there is now a two day extension of the ceasefire which means that it should now come to an end on Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
Note we write “should”. If you recall, the Netanyahu government agreed in the beginning to the possibility of a 10 day ceasefire.
Ten more hostages are to be released tonight, and ten more tomorrow.
