FANTASTIC NEWS!
Tonight, between Sunday and Monday, the IDF announced the successful rescue of 61-year-old Fernando Simon Merman and 70-year-old Luis Herr, who were kidnapped from Nir Yitzhak on October 7. They were rescued in Rafah.
Israeli Media: “They are in good condition and are currently undergoing tests at Sheba-Tel Hashomer Hospital. The two abductees were held by Hamas in Rafah, and in a complex but very successful operation by the Shin Bet and YMM in an aerial envelope, Shayetet 13 and the 7th Brigade, they were rescued after a raid on the building where they were being held. One fighter was lightly wounded during the operation.”
A student from Malawi, who had worked with an Israeli health volunteer in his country battling AIDS, came up to us as we walked down the street in the UC-Davis Picnic Day Parade and wanted to carry the Israeli flag.
