On the Ground in the South

The IDF Spokesman:

“Since the beginning of the war, the Yalam unit has been operating throughout Gaza above and below ground. The unit focuses on the tunnel network, which is a central part of the Hamas terrorist organization’s method of operation and includes the organization’s essential and strategic centers of gravity.

The fighters fight professionally in face-to-face battles, uncover and destroy underground tunnels and tunnels and achieve significant results. Recently, a number of strategic tunnels in Khan Yunis that were used by Hamas’ high command were allowed to be published. Now the IDF is revealing another tunnel route that was used by the seniors and was destroyed.

Yalam forces and other units under the command of Division 98 raided the underground route in the Khan Yunis area. Upon entering the route, the fighters encountered the side doors and roadblocks placed by the terrorists in order to prevent the forces from entering the tunnel. The fighters broke through the roadblocks and identified terrorists in the tunnel, using special means and battled face to face with the terrorists. The route was investigated and scanned for intelligence, electricity and water infrastructures.

The length of the tunnel is over a kilometer and millions of shekels were invested in it. This tunnel is part of a strategic and branching underground route located under Khan Yunis which was used by senior Hamas officials and the Khan Yunis Brigade to hide and conduct combat.”

The Knesset Votes To Support Netanyahu

99 out of 120 Knesset members voted yesterday to oppose any unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state and in support of PM Netanyahu’s  declaration that a peace must be reached through direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Already by late last night, Bidenites in Washington were absurdly urging Israel to back off the Knesset declaration.

An Assortment of Quotes Yesterday

“If there is a military operation in Rafah, you can forget about the hostage deal.”

An unnamed diplomat familiar with the mediation efforts to CNN yesterday.

It is amazing how so-called “diplomats” anonymously and mysteriously climb out of the woodwork to offer comments on CNN and other leftist media. One wonders if they really exist or if the media is simply perpetrating a fraud.

“If aid trucks enter without an agreement with Israel, they will be bombed. Israel drags its feet to check trucks, and there are hundreds of trucks waiting for their turn on the Egyptian side.”

The Chairman of the Egyptian Information Service in comments to Al-Jazeera”

The Egyptians don’t give a whit about the Palestinians. What really irritates them is that as long as the trucks don’t go in, they (the Egyptians) don’t collect the commission they get for each one. This is especially irksome to Cairo because the money that Egypt gets from ships passing through the Suez Canal has been cut in half by the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

“If Israel invades Rafah, Britain will consider stopping arms exports to Israel.”

Another unnamed “diplomatic” source in an interview to British media

Rafah is the leftist world’s last hurrah when it comes to the war in Gaza. Having been unable to stop Israel so far, now the lefties tremble at the thought that HamISIS might actually be eliminated and will do anything they can to stop Israel from mopping up the last bastion of HamISIS brigades.

“If the war expands against Lebanon, we will block the sunlight with our missiles, until now we have been using old missiles and weapons before their expiration date.”

Mohammad Raad, Hezbollah member of the Lebanese Parliament

“Blocking the sunlight with our missiles” is the threat we have been hearing from HamISIS and Islamic Jihad for years. Yes, Hezbollah can fire tens of thousands of missiles, but there won’t be anything left of Beirut after they do.
