IDF soldiers on the ground in Gaza and in the north have indicated that they urgently need more basic supplies and armaments.
Today, we here at OneIsrael are beginning another campaign for our soldiers. This campaign will extend from today through Passover and to Shavuot.
Please consider donating to our campaign by clicking on the donate button in the right hand column on this page. All donations go directly to our soldiers.
May His Memory Be For A Blessing
Lidor Levi, 34, died yesterday from wounds he received in the terror attack in Gan Yavne earlier this week. A software engineer, he leaves behind his pregnant wife and six month old son.
Lidor was a soldier in the Combat Engineering Corps who was seriously wounded in Gaza in 2009 but gradually recovered. When the current war broke out, he tried to enlist in the reserves.
He was eulogized by his family yesterday: “Lidor was an exemplary father, partner, brother and son, a man full of love, nobility and devotion. An anchor for his family and a role model for those around him. The purpose of his life was to help people with modesty and humility. Lidor left a huge void in our hearts, we will continue to live according to the values he instilled in us In order to commemorate him.”
UPDATE 9:00 AM
All of Israel is on the edge of our seats as we await a possible attack from Iran.
The IDF and IAF are at the highest state of alert; a caravan of Israel’s Jericho ballistic missiles was filmed heading south yesterday; local municipalities have opened their bomb shelters; reserve soldiers have been recalled and combat unit soldiers’ vacations have been canceled; there are reports of food shortages after runs on supermarkets; the Education Ministry has ordered boarding schools to send home their students; emergency medical clinics have been set up in the north, and . . .
The latest from the IDF Spokesman:
“We are on high alert in all arenas, we have strengthened alertness, we have fighterjets ready to attack for a variety of scenarios. We must not be complacent, and in the same breath – it is important for me to emphasize – there is no change in the directives of the Home Front Command. Your responsible behavior on the home front is the one that allows saving lives. My only recommendation – to be vigilant, keep up to date and follow the changes.”
Meanwhile More Terror From Palestinian Terrorists Last Night
And:
And 1 minute later:
It seems as if the terrorists in Gaza once again feel free to fire at will at southern Israel.
From the IDF Spokesman a few minutes ago:
“The forces of Division 98 continue to operate in Khan Yunis to cleanse the area of Hamas. Fighters of the 7th Brigade Combat Team destroyed a trapped building with tank fire, located military equipment and weapons, and destroyed an underground terrorist infrastructure, this at the same time as Air Force strikes in the area in which a fighter jet attacked and eliminated two terrorists who were inside a military building.
Following the launches carried out last night (Thursday) from Gaza towards the areas of Ashkelon, Kfar Gaza and Sderot, the 215th Fire Brigade attacked the launch areas in the north of the Strip with artillery fire. Air Force fighter jets under the direction of the fire center of the Southern Command attacked a number of targets in the launch areas, including launch pits, assembly points and a tunnel shaft. As part of the air force attacks with the assistance of the brigade forces, fighter jets attacked a number of trapped buildings in the forces sector. During the last day, the Air Force planes attacked more than 30 targets throughout the Gaza Strip. Among the targets attacked were military buildings, tunnel shafts, government buildings, a military depot and other military infrastructure.”
The Biden Ultimatum Or Not?
All of the Israeli media has been afire last night and this morning with reports of the 45-minute telephone conversation between PM Netanyahu and President Biden–which dovetailed with harsh remarks made by U.S. Secretary of State Blinken in Belgium yesterday.
In the conversation as originally reported, Biden demanded an immediate Israeli ceasefire, and said that if one is not immediately forthcoming, the U.S. will reconsider its policy toward Israel. At the same time, he said that future Israel weapons requests have been suspended. Biden then proceeded, according to reports, to demand greater Israeli flexibility in the hostage negotiations—and blamed the lack of a hostage agreement on the government not giving its negotiators a wide enough mandate. Finally to no one’s surprise, Biden demanded increased humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Whew! Demand. Demand. Blame. Demand. And if you don’t do what we say . . .
By this morning, there was another backtracking of sorts from Washington with a statement saying that what Biden meant was that any ceasefire has to be tied to a release of hostages.
Whatever Biden said or didn’t say, Israeli negotiators returned to Cairo this morning—despite the fact that HamISIS rejected the most recent proposal last night. And our War Cabinet decided last night to greatly increase humanitarian aid to Gaza, again.
Where do we stand now with the U.S.?
Who knows?
Meanwhile Another Terrorist Attack Thwarted
Shin Bet revealed that a huge terror cell has been captured consisting of 5 Israeli-Arab citizens of Rahat, 1 Israeli-Arab from Lod, 1 Israeli-Arab from Iron, and 4 Palestinians from Samaria (Tulkarm and Jenin).
In addition to the planned assassination attempt, they planned to kidnap Israeli soldiers and attack Ben Gurion Airport as well as government facilities in Jerusalem.
The Eloquent Quote of the Day
“We stand here in this holy place face to face with those who want to burn down our country, divide us, and try to tear Israeli society apart again only because of their hatred for the current government.
Those lawbreakers don’t care about the hostages, they don’t care about the soldiers who are currently fighting in Gaza, and they certainly don’t care about our children who fell for the sanctification of God’s name and so that they and their family members to continue living in this land.
We will not allow the extremists to burn down the country and harm policemen and symbols of government. This vocal minority will not succeed in dismantling Israeli society this time. We simply will not let them.
We, the bereaved families, came today to Mount Herzl, the holy mountain, the mountain of heroes, to visit the graves of our sons who fell defending the land. We came today to stand before them and promise them a second time that we will continue the war for the land they loved so much. We came here to promise them that we will do everything for the unity of our people.
From October 7 until today, 600 funerals were held in Israel and the entire nation of Israel wept with us at those funerals. At all 600 funerals, the bereaved families called for unity among the people of Israel. We all swore to continue the path of the fallen and we have no intention of breaking this oath. From this sacred place, Mount Herzl, which has united the people of Israel since the establishment of the state until today, I would like to convey a message to the Sinwar and the rest of our enemies: Don’t reach the wrong conclusions. The people of Israel are all united in supporting the war and in full support of our army and our heroic soldiers. It is only a matter of time until we eliminate you once and for all. The people of Israel are united. The people of Israel are strong and the people of Israel live,”
Itzik Bonzel, the father of Sgt. Amit Bonzel who fell in Gaza, speaking on Mt. Herzl yesterday with Bereaved Families Who Lost Loved Ones on October 7th and in the War.
Kolakevod to the Families for drawing a line in the sand against the leftist insanity on the streets here!
